Finished the build on my Transition ToP 2 weeks ago. Pretty burly at ~34lbs. Pedals nice w/ 34-16 on the gears.

I'll have to post a pic of the previous PricePoint Rekken SS. Was my trusty steed for a couple years, never missed a beat. She is now in the hands of my brother, I'm sure she will still get the sh ite kicked out of her.

The Il Pompino grocery getter/commuter. A kid trailer is in the house now, to pull some big grocery getting loads. No kids, thankfully. :)

(not really SS or fixed - was fixed, but now running an 8spd Sturmey-Archer internal hub.) Figured a nice straight chainline qualified it for here...

That looks fun/fast/fun.

Did I mention that looks fun?
Thanks! It is super fun. It's my favorite bike in the line up. I plan on putting a front generator wheel/light to commute. Currently I'm running my night lights (Light & Motion Seca) but it's a pain to swap between commuter/mountain bike.

Nothing fancy to see here, but of the bikes I own this has to be my all-time favourite.
Nice winter weather for a change - now it's back to the usual rain and more rain.....

Here's mine, old Surly instigator frame and forks with the usual bits knocking around to build it up.
I cant stand this bike because I have got a nice Cove Handjob and a Heckler but I never use them. I even put this bike up in the attic so I would use my other bikes but I always end up riding this one!

Anyway it was our one day of snow today for the year and I wouldn't want to be on any other bike.

Nice Surly and nice photos!!!!
Cheers, I was thinking about getting a Single speed specific frame as I am using it a lot. But then I thought that would be defeating the object of a cheap bike to ride about in the muck. So I think I might just do it up a bit.

I saw one set up 32:18 without a tensioner the other night btw. In case you want to try and achieve a magic gear ratio sans tensioner.

Cheers, I am running a 17/15 by 32 gearing at them moment (the old Singulator works well as a manual gear changer).
I have already started to do it up, put some Fox F120 RLC forks on it yesterday and I have ordered a Surly 33T chain ring and a new decal kit for it which should be here tomorrow.
Dose the magic gear actually work once the chain has stretched ?

Well it's been a long winter and I got bored and decided to experiment with my Turner 5-Spot. Now I am no avid singlespeed xc rider but I really like my singlespeed Sinister DNA. I purchased a Yess chain tensioner and a rennen cassette spacer and in a few minutes had a ss dual suspension bike.

After weeks of wondering how it would ride I finally got a chance to test it out around the neighborhood. I did a couple of two to three foot drops and had no issues with the chain. Although I have not got to ride anything really technical it appears that the chain tensioner will work as advertised.

I realize that a dual suspension bike does go against the minimalistic intent of the single speed movement. However, there is no doubt that this is an extremely fun bike to ride. In addition to trail riding I may just have to give it a go on a dual slalom course.
