Haha. You passed me at the top of the climb on JD.First ride since March 15th; yes! It was great to be on the trails again. I got a bit lost in @Da Peach 's front yard to start, but eventually found my way to familiar territory.View attachment 145505
Have you asked China?anybody got a good idea on how to do it with a locked Samsung that has no emergency contact info programmed in?
You know some Darwin Award candidate will take that as a challenge.
that's a big ol ride for 20 miles.Had another stellar ride on the Smash yesterday, Mt. Ashland provided hero dirt and the weather was perfect. I did manage to loose my Fabric water bottle somewhere on the ride down though!

Turn it on and wait for it to ring. Is the phone available for use when locked?40 miles on the road-dog, picked up a couple of screws out of the road, and found a phone. Screws got deposited in the nearest overgrown bush and no clue how I’m going to track down the owner of the phone, anybody got a good idea on how to do it with a locked Samsung that has no emergency contact info programmed in?View attachment 145521View attachment 145523
That place looks like a cool little spot. Will definitely check it out if I'm ever down that way. I saw the logging earlier this year actually - place got wrecked! The Pines just outside of Woodstock.
Built on leased land from the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority. It was a dirt-roadie paradise for years, but it got logged earlier this spring. So the current trail builders decided to change things up. They are placing hubs at the high-points each with several downhill trails, all linked up with transfers and return climbing routes. The trails are all super short, basically like sessioning a section of normal trail. Trying to eek out the most fun and progression with the maybe 75 feet of elevation.
That looks great. You may be doing only a fraction of my rides, but yours are 4x bigger and sooo much nicer, Alfie! Can't spell Butte-iliscious without Superfund...

Im not sure, but I think that might be Godzilla.
Skitters are out huge, not much in the biting pepper yet, but it be a comin'.black flies and mosquito hordes have put a damper on taking pics during rides.
Gotta get you're Muskoka dance going to keep the critters at bay.
YES!
Learned that dance quite well canoeing Algonquin for a week at a time.
Have you noticed that we no longer seem to have bug seasons, they just come and stay for the whole summer and into fall. I mean mosquitos in October?
Weirdest thing - I came across a group all wearing hats with a dragonfly on a wire above their heads. Should have asked if it was effective, but I was trying not to laugh....pretty much chewing on my tongue.YES!
Last summer we had to stop bbqing after our weekly group ride for a few weeks, the damn bugs were that bad. We even tried bringing a giant fan to blow the damn things away. Nope, just made them fly into you harder.
I'd go full in and wore some hungry looking bats.Weirdest thing - I came across a group all wearing hats with a dragonfly on a wire above their heads. Should have asked if it was effective, but I was trying not to laugh....pretty much chewing on my tongue.
You been riding those grips long? Any reason why you use them? I have similar ones on my hybrid bike that I like, not sure if I want them on my XC bike though.

I have been running similar grips for the past year. Honestly they put more pressure on my palms than is really comfortable. But I have some thumb injuries and need to take the pressure off of them and it has to go somewhere. You been riding those grips long? Any reason why you use them?
