My name is Chris, and I am 32. I live in The O.C., New York, that is. I don't like it here. I enjoy conversation, sun sets, long walks on the, oh wait, wrong web site. Any way, I have never been married. I don't have any kids, that I know about.

I like to mtb, atv, snow board, photograph, hike, camp, any thing I can do outside. I have an 06 Stumpjumper and an 06 Enduro Expert, both with some nice mods.

I am an industrial mechanic. I have had 3 major surgeries in the last 3 years, all relating to some sort of accident. I graduated college with an associate degree in Animal Science. My favorite classes were physiology related. I like to know how complex systems work.

I am not much of a people person, but I try. I don't like talking about myself.

I'm Sunny, aka Laura.

I have formal training in modern languages, practical experience (that corporate job I had once) in technical writing.

I currently get paid to hang out in a bike shop, talk about tires and suspension, teach people how to shift properly, etc. It's the coolest job I've ever had.

I've been married to the most patient man on the planet for almost 16 years. Ummm... so, I was married when I was 12.

J/K. I'm almost 40, but often forget that. I started mtn biking when I was 36, just after I did my first Olympic-dist triathlon.

As soon as I could ride a XC trail without crashing into something, I started downhilling. I now race expert DH.

My husband's in the Navy, so we are essentially from North America.

I have lived in 11 places since 1990, including Spain and Finland. We now are in SoCal.

Wierd stuff no one would guess:

I've had formal training to sing opera, but can't really read music.

I speak half a dozen languages passably well, and can read and write Chinese and Arabic if I have a good large-print dictionary.

I still remember the names and faces of over half my first grade class.

I have always been dreadfully uncoordinated and run into stuff all my life. For people to refer to me as an "athlete" is a totally new thing.

I've got a really smart one and a dumb one. The other day my neighbor called to let me know my dumb sweet baby boy (Giovanni) was whining in the backyard. He went over and checked out what was going on and he found that my evil smart girl dog (Indy) had broken into the recycling.

Every time Indy gets into something Giovanni usually hides. I thought it was awesome that he told on her!

In Der Fuhrer's face
I've been called just about everything, except late for dinner. As the character Mr. Big portrayed by Yaphet Kotto in the film Live and Let Die said, "Names is for tombstones, baby. Take this honky out and waste him."

I've been riding bicycles since I was four years old. My dad didn't believe in training wheels, so my brothers and I learned by just hopping on and riding. He also showed us how to fix our bicycles and by the time we were eight, we could completely tear down a Sting-Ray and build it back up.

During grade school, we rode our bicycles voraciously all year long. Some of our favorite bike activities were bike tag, riding to the beach, riding to go fishing, bottle hunting (five cent returnables added up quickly back then) , exploring wherever, and finally modifying our bikes for use in what was to become BMX and riding off of whatever the hell we could think of. My personal favorite "stunt" at the time was riding down slides at parks. They were metal and straight back then. The only thing one had to be careful about was clipping a pedal on the handrails near the top.

During the Jr High and high school years, the bikes changed, but we still rode. The Schwinn Varsity and Cruiser became the weapon of choice, the former modified with BMX bars and made for wheelies. The varsity was used to get places quickly, like quick trips to the house of a friend to get high. Every once in a while if one or both of my bikes was down, I'd "borrow" one of the 'rent's Free Spirit Three Speeds.

Out of high school, I joined the USAF and while there, didn't have a bicycle handy for four years. The 'rents divorced and gave both of my bikes that were left back home were "donated" to Goodwill. Some home, eh? At least my eldest brother saved my Lightning Bolt surfboard for me. Upon ETS, I was considering buying a road bike and getting into racing. Where I had moved to though was having a rash of road cyclist deaths, so I bought a "mountain bike". Ever since the first real ride in the dirt, I've been hooked.

Why say any more?

Go ride your bikes.

Name's Shawn, aka Alaina's daddy
I'm 43
Have lived in San Gabriel valley, CA, Scottsdale, AZ, Auckland, NZ, Tacoma, WA, and now Gardnerville, NV. Though I like the thought of moving back to some of the outlying areas of Phoenix, it's grown too big and worries me.
I currently work at Bill's Casino in Stateline, NV (South Lake Tahoe) as a pit boss/dog/bull/prick.
I've been married twice, first time for 9 years (no kids), second time just reached our 9th year (three from her previous, one of our own who's now in Heaven and many of you have shown support for).
Have 5 dogs, none of which I've had any say in getting, though they have won me over a bit (but only if they can swim in the lake/river).
Have only been searched once at the Mexican border and caught with extra booze (lucky me). Not bad for all the times I've gone to Rocky Point.
Since February 7, 2003, I've only missed 15 days of visiting Alaina at her site.
I was so happy/excited that the D-Backs won the World Series, I ruptured my Achilles tendon jumping around the house. When I went in for surgery, Alaina kissed it, so I think the doc did an extra good job on it, you know, because of the extra pressure.
I want to leave my current wife because of all the troubles we've been having, though the memories of Alaina are stronger with her. Talk about a catch 22.

Coincidence?

I'm reactor.

I'm 44, and work for "the man"

I took masters level computer courses in high school. Could hack my way into a PDP-11 by the time I was 16, know a lot of computer languages.

I did several jobs in the Nav, including "Special Projects". I have a considerable knowledge of Nuclear engineering, electrical engineering and computer engineering(very dated). I had considerably more weapons training than the average Squid.

I have several bikes including a 2006 Specialized enduro, 2005 specialized Roubaix, a 06 titus motolite, an 04 Titus Talas Switchblade, and an 04 specialized epic(now setup as a commuter bike).

I have a six (soon to be seven) year old daughter, and a wife who has two bikes a Giant OCR, and a Titus Racer-X.

My other hobby Is Photography where I use a Canon 30D, and have several nice lenses including a 100-400mm F4-5.6 IS L, 70-200 F4 IS L, 24-70 F2.8 L, a 100MM Macro.

I haven't been riding as much lately due to some heart problems (arrhythmia - PBC, VT, AT ), and work schedules, but I hope to get back to riding before I turn into a 400lbs marshmallow

Oh yeah, I love Punk, blues and alt-rock too. NOFX, MR T experience, rancid, deadline, echo and the bunnymen, the clash, dead Kennedy's the list goes on and on.

My name's Will.
I'm currently in commercial real estate, particularly property management and leasing.
I'm 24.
I played college football, lacrosse and rugby.
I started riding bikes in 2000 and have gone from hartail to fully and back countless times to adapt to my flavor of the month riding (DH, FR, XC, urban) only in the past 2 years have I owned more than one working bike at a time.
I'm not married but in a serious relationship.
No kids that I know of.

Interesting stuff:

I was adopted and my biological father was a professional athlete of some sort (I would be interested in meeting my biological parents at some point in time, but its not on my list of priorities) and my mother was an equestrian jumper or something of the sort.

I've been on MTV (I had to sign a waiver, but it wasn't something I could have avoided because it was job-related).

I'm related to Jim Lovell and have had the honor of spending a decent amount of time with him.

I'm Pete, born in Lexington, VA but moved away about a year and a half ago. I currently reside in Blacksburg but I don't go to Virginia Tech.

I'm 26, and a 2nd year osteopathic voodoo....errr... medical student, who is INSANELY jealous of Toshi right now as this year sucks.

I'm married (4 years in Feb of '08) with a little boy who will soon be 2. Terrible Two's? Yeah right... more like terrible 17 months and beyond. But I love that kid more than life itself and look forward to every minute I have to spend with him when I get home from school.

I currently ride a 2004 Kona Coiler that's been slowly getting newer parts. Before that I rode a trek liquid 10 and a giant yukon was my first non-walmart bike. I'd like to say that i ride mostly AM as that's what's available.

I've lost 30 pounds since August, but according to a body mass index chart I'm still morbidly obese b/c I'm not 6'4''. This is weird too b/c stress increases cortisol levels and cortisol makes you fat...... I don't like large crowds, small crowds, and generally shy away from any situation where I have to speak in public... which is why I like RM. I dont have to actually interact with people. There are only 4 people in this world who I'd take a bullet for (one of them is also here on RM).

I've met a handful of monkeys but only ridden with a few of them (Castle, SpacemanSpiff). I got to meet Banche at Norba race at Snowshoe shortly after the Wintergreen debacle. That was.... fun....

I had loco for my first RM secret santa and got him a shirt that said "Who you tryin to get crazy with ese? Dont you know I'm Loco". It seemed like a good idea since I thought everyone on here was a teenager (b/c of the posts I read at the time).

I want to be a family practice doctor who works with people who live at least 50 miles from the nearest hospital and definitely don't have insurance.

Something interesting about me: My interest in medicine came from standing at the head of the table while some lady received a quadruple bypass surgery...

This post is really only so my credit will continue to go up....

I was once found hiding inside someone when they received a body cavity search in Austria....
