...let me check - the Gitmo connection may have been of value because some of the info leading to the courier potentially came from a detainee?
Apparently they had been following his courier for years and he finally slipped up making a phone call and that started the trail to Bin Laden.

Now could the information about the courier have come from a detainee, of course...

Buried at sea, eh?

Me thinks thats a bit of a story. Whats the bet they have him deep underground somewhere, keeping him alive and concious while they give him whats been coming to him? Waterboarding will be a day in the spa compared to what I'm imagining. I dunno, but thats what i would have done. :D

yep
The US may have obtained a clue three years ago that Osama bin Laden was hiding in Abbottabad, according to information gathered by interrogators at Guantánamo.

Buried in a document from 2008 released by WikiLeaks last week are notes from the interrogation of a Libyan, Abu al-Libi, who had apparently been with Bin Laden in Afghanistan........
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/may/03/osama-bin-laden-abbottabad-hideout

and it looks like they took his pron and other files from computers too...hopefully they release some of the video taken during the raid today too
The most important achievement of yesterday's operation wasn't killing Osama. It was the US Navy SEALs' booty: dozens of computers, memory sticks and disks loaded with information that might just crush all of al Qaeda's network.

Correct.

This point was raised in my face book page from one of my favorite victims.

23 hours ago • Michael ****** So good thing he wasn't able to close Gitmo or we would have never got that intel!!!

21 hours ago • Pesqueeb: So mike.... Basic human rights < whacking one nut job?

12 hours ago • Michael ******: Without hesitation, whacking the nut job everytime!!! **** basic human rights! While there are nut jobs in the world that will fly planes in to buildings, there is a need for torture, oh I am sorry "Enhanced Interrogation Techniques"

11 hours ago • Pesqueeb: So your not outraged at all when American Soldiers are captured and tortured then? Oh wait, I meant given "Enhanced Interrogations".
I am still of the opinion that the fact that we are using the so called "Enhanced Interrogation Techniques" means we lost. We threw out the moral high ground, basic humanity, and the ability to ever judge without hypocrisy every other country in the world for human right violations for what? Isn’t the soul (assuming we ever had one) of the Nation worth more than one token symbolic victory? Were not any more "secure" or "safe" today than we were on Saturday night.

I'm less concerned about the morality of actions as I'm a bit more of a "ends justify the means" kind of guy. It's been noted that it appears that "enhanced interrogation" techniques probably didn't lead to the killing, but of course that's not going to stop the Republicans claiming it did.

I just wish that we could have a rational conversation about a) whether it works and b) whether it's legal. I don't see that happening *anytime* soon though...

a) sure it works, but it's not as good as establishing rapport

What really happened?

With more scrutiny being paid to the budget it became harder to hide and Barry refused to continue paying OBL the hush money Bush II promised him for taking the blame for 9/11 as perpetrated by the military-industrial complex as a means to increase military spending after cuts made during the Clinton administration.:tinfoil:

I was trying to make up the most unbelievable conspiracy theory ever then I realized it wouldn't really surprise me if it was true. I need to throw in some bigfoot, ancient aliens, zionists, hey-zues and Masonic conspiracy before I take it to market.

he was originally vocal about killing him. if he didnt act after all the intel was presented before him, then you can say he was ball-less maybe
True. The article seemed to stress however that before the operation it seemed as if more was at stake than could be gained. the top chances that Bin Laden was in that compound were estimated around 80%. If we had busted in there to find nothing, it could have back fired pretty badly. And as much as most people hate Pakistan, they have Nukes and aren't really a country that you want to piss off enough that they decide they would be better off teaming up with the other side. It takes guts to roll the dice he did.

considering they turn a blind eye to our numerous drone attacks in country resulting in killing civilians, i highly doubt this would have turned into MAD

They are saying it's a 'specially outfitted' UH-60. Looking at the tail rotor pics between what you put up and the stock photos. Specially outfitted probably means re-skinned with stealth materials and low radar signature paneling

there is also a "dish" covering the non-conventional tail rotor, smoothed out panels and purported main rotor mods to slow them down and make them quieter.

They just spray on some stealth in a can. Very similar to spray-on-hair but with a nice goat smell to blend in with the countryside.

Yes, sir...you are exactly right. If he didn't act, yeah...ball-less.

But there is a big, mother fvcking line right there that you have to cross as president, and although he wasn't my choice for president...he was a fvckin boss right there.

He put it ALL on the line, man. Much respect. :thumb:
