I'll be wearing Nema regardless, so I'll throw a decals on the steed and brainbucket. That's not a difficult thing to do for a company that is actually trying to improve our sport. I'll even give back the cash! Props to the Nema cats!!!
Yes, it's done all the time.
Yes, you HAVE to strip the frame clean, this means dirt and any imperfections on the frame. Any scratches & etc will show through the ano.
I really like the look of a single speed, it'll be sweet on the 951. I like the non-cluttered forward controls without the shifter and cable. But I also think you might regret not having a couple gears to run through. You may not be a pinner, but why limit yourself?
Yo B,
If your trying to ditch the whole derailleur thing, then a 3 or 4 speed defeats the purpose obviously. Sure you'll save a few grams but you'll still have a derailleur, shifter and cable. Personally, I would just run a normal set-up, but given the choice of the two options your asking...
I am no suspension guru by any means, and I noticed a difference in the ride of the two bikes right away, and could easily tell which bike was which if blindfolded. 951 is poppier, more lively, takes a little more input to control, this not saying that it's difficult or it a bad thing...
That's kind of what I thought, but it seems that another option would be better, couldn't the ties themselves rub through the paint? Just wondering since I'm going to have to put something my 951 myself. BTW, thanks for the suggestions on the drive train!
Just about have the 951 built, just needing to get the drive train. I'm looking at several different set-ups and getting different advice from friends. So I thought that I would seek the wisdom of my extended friends here on RM. So come on guys, let me hear your recommendations, I threw my...
I did this to my Saints and some other parts, after stripping them, I used something like 2500 grit, then 3000 grit (can't really remember the actual grit, but it was some extremely fine nonetheless), then polishing compound, then finished them with Mothers wheel and mag polish. They were mirror...
EZ off does work pretty good. As others have said, be sure that if you going with the ano route, be sure to you make certain that the bare metal "clean" otherwise you're going to be sorry when you get it back. So spend a little extra time and try to get every imperfection cleaned. I speak from...
I can't upload pics from the office computer. Here is a couple links from SickLines, maybe somebody else can post them.

There's always a pinkbiker in the crowd. The funny thing is you took the time to post something completely worthless. If you read the post, you would have noticed that the biggest concern was the 2 bolt with the dovetail. And if you noticed it was answered by TomBigmac. Thus answering the main...
