the syncros wheels are light, i got a 32mm front rim and a 36mm rear. super light wtb rear hub. and the bht-1 tires are good too, steel bead, but with thin side walls, and 50 front/55 rear compound. i'm also running 2.1-2.4 xc tubes.

if i wanted to save a couple pounds i would get ligher cranks/fork/ti spring.

The DHR and the M3 are SICK!!! Love the Turner - a couple of parts but overall thats easy on the eyes and the M3 as always is a rock solid machine.

Hey Julian, since I didn't have many rides with it yet I can't tell you much. But once you have setted it up for your weight and style it's great. It's very smooth and I haven't noticed any bottoming out. I can't tell about stiffness cause my last fork was a Shiver. MAYBE next week I get riding again and I'll be able to tell you something better. Hayes dealler here in Brazil is just like CRAP!

And I got some news about White Bros that maybe some people don't know. Some days ago I sent them an email ragarding to the direct mount bar system and Paul told me the current forks come with a crown wich is compatible with Boxxer's direct mount stem. In the top of the picture you can see it:

Im sorry dude but I got the same frame with all lighter components (except the fork) and it sits at 39.8 on the digital scale...Unless if my scale was broken there's no way yours at 38...

Well then I am guessing your scale was off a little bit. This was weighed on two scales, and both came within a quarter pound of each other. And another Demo I know with almost the same build but with xo and I9's/823 is sitting at 38lbs. I will check again, but I'm pretty sure yours is just lighter that 38lbs.

Yep, I wanted it low, which as a result made it slack. Its only noticable at slow speeds.

Frame:- 2004 Turner DHR with avy. Shock reduced to 9.125x2.75 (from 9.5x3) to lower bottom bracket and slacken the head angle. BB is scraping the ground at 13.6 inchs
Fork:- 2006 boxxer race upgraded to world cup specs (air spring and upgraded MCU). Reduced to 7.3 inchs travel

Hmmm, just did some maths. If I got a Ti spring, an air spring for the boxxers, and an SDG I-beam post/seat, the bike would be a touch under 36lbs, still with DH tyres and 1 DH tube. Lot of money though.

How are those rims holding up for you so far? Any regrets? Im thinking about building up a wheelset with those at the end of the summer, any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Haven't put it on the scale but the spreadsheet says around 41lb's.

Its as light as i feel comfortable with before sacrificing strength or wasting money on ti springs and so forth.

The most important thing is light wheels, forks and light cluster/derailleur which i have.

If your running those rims get the dt rim strips/stans and ditch the DH tubes. 400 + grams saving just there.

Bought the bike stock in late '05, upgraded almost everything off it.
Specs are pretty easy to figure out...but some main points...
Brakes- Older Shimano 4-pots with goodridge lines
Dearailleur- X.9 with X.7 shifter
Chain guide- Red Gamut P40
Seat- Red SDG Bel-air SL

Weight- Around 45lbs

But when I say around 45...i mean like 44.5-44 ish. But its a bathroom scale, so I'm being generous.

I saw other bikes in here in my range, figured it was only fair my bike got the glamour shots too.

Picked it up last year for $1100 from craigs list and have upgraded a bunch of the stock parts that were still on it over the winter. It had 3" doublewide rims and the rear wheel was 24". Changing the Fork and the wheels/tires dropped a heap of weight.

Intense M1 - 42lbs with pedals
Boxxer Team Fork, Deetrax wheels with Maxxis Minions DHR/DHF and the Shimano 105 rear derailleur were the big changes that made a world of difference.
