In your pants
I call BS on that Sunday build. You've still got some heavy parts on there.

Are you running tubeless? No spaces/top cap. I've never seen a Sunday under 38.5 lbs. without a Ti spring.

Just asking. If you have scale pics, I'd be interested to see.

Yeah that most certainly isn't 37lbs.
I know what it takes to get a sunday to the 36.x mark and that has next to none of it done. I dare say that one is much closer to the 39/40 mark.

As to any form of comparison with the weight of the Sunday, mine weighs in at 40.5 pounds with some lighter parts than his (cranks) and some heavier. (brakes)

He was asking if yours was drilled out, not that it makes much difference anyway. That thing definitely isn't 37lbs, take a pic on a digital hanging scale. Also, Ben Reid rides medium frames... are you sure that's a small? You can tell by the tiny seatube gusset, like on poonstar's sunday. A side on picture would show it.

poonstar -
Single-ply tyres and XC tubes don't count! :p

yeah but Reid rides a small. Did you read what was in the link? Or are you just saying it wasn't outrageous for somebody to think that he rode a medium?

oh and a lot of pros also use a smaller bike that what is suggested. It's all preference.

Uhh early day reading and I didn't spot that post. Still the idea was that ppl tend to use frames not only of their suggested size.

BTW. Who uses a frame 1 size to small for him? Haven't heard that.

Hill is 5'10 and rides a 17" that has roughly the same WB as a 19", the HA is slightly slacker and the frontend is slightly longer. I'm with norbar, at WC (or even elite) level you usually want a slightly larger bike than what would fit you otherwise.

Perhaps Reid is shorter than I thought because the small sunday is a very small bike. Wasn't even Jonnier on a medium?

Couldn't tell you Bens exact height but he is tiny part leprechaun maybe 5 4" 5 6" or something close to that so a small would not be that odd

Haha wow, fair enough! He doesn't look that short in videos, must be because he's still in proportion.

At the beginning of his career Reid was riding a pimp'd Giant ATX DH because he wouldn't fit on the small "new" DH bike. When he got a full Giant factory ride they made him a custom XS frame.

Udi extactly. You trully start to appreciate the long wb on a world cup class track. I was moaning all the time about the long wb of my bike until I did a little euro trip. When the things go fast, steep and nasty you want your bike to be as long as possible ;) Living in a place with very tech dh track I'd even consider buying a larger frame for myself.

@bent_steel great demo. They seem to be getting more and more popular lately for no apparent reason ;)
