My build is on semi-hold pending title and registration. The issue is there is supposed to be a VIN stamped on the chassis somewhere, but Google has been no help and DMV had no idea. So I have a call into OHP for an inspection. If they can locate the VIN, awesome, otherwise they will likely use the Olson chassis tag on the new Oregon title.

But the seller hasn't returned my calls, so I could be out $3200+ if it comes back bogus. Should know next week.

OHP came, we found the VIN, $2K worth of crap ordered, DMV for title and registration today, big ass build out starts next week.

Phase 1 is infrastructure and insulation.

Phase 2 is heat, cool, venting

Phase 3 is plumbing

I am trying to get all 3 done by April.

So here is what I have on the way. I still need a door and windows, I will order those Friday.

300w premium solar kit with 40A controller
200Ah 12v battery
LED flush mount lights and dimmer
12 spot 12v fuse box with ground
3.2 fridge/freezer
5000btu heat pump
1500w inverter with 3k surge and 30A transfer switch and remote shutoff
Battery isolator
150A alternator (90A@ idle)

I have the range, still need a propane tank. I also spent $350 getting the correct pedestals and retractable belts.

Tried to do the brakes and my compressor isn't enough to run an impact, so more tools added to the budget. I will sit down tonight and total up the damage so far.

I still might get a second battery, but I am insulating the hell out of it, so I hope the heat pump is minimal and I got the lowest power fridge I could find. The goal is 3 days, 2 nights solo minimum.

It's 15x15x19 and I scored a 17x21 hatch for $55 off eBay. I have a ton of room between the body and frame. I might do the generator in front of it on the same side.

shit with all that real estate on the roof of that step van slap 400 watts of solar up there and two or 3 group 31 agm battteries inside and you will have more power for stuff than you will need. AGMs do not off gas toxic vapor and don't need to be in a exterior vented compartment.

I had spec'd 400W originally. I got the 40A controller and can add another panel easy enough. A buddy of mine was talking about welding some tracks on and I can mount whatever. Still playing with ideas.

This is the kit I got

That will work. I have the 200 watt kit on my camper and it does my 2 group 31 AGMs quite nicely

This is the battery I decided on. 114# but it had good reviews and was cost effective. It's about $500 to add another panel and second battery. I am building my battery spot to support 2.

I still have some work to do on the truck, but it should be road worthy in 2 weeks tops.

You could post some pics please... I looked at a camper toy hauler thing. It smelled like Cigarettes and feet.

I have all new LED marker, brake, turn, and reverse lights to install and my wiper motor came yesterday. The window felt was wrong, so I need to call them. $25 for the felt, $24 to ship it. Wtf.

The rear door has all new hardware and is fully functional now, too. Just need the felt to button up the passenger door.

So the inverter showed up today. I guess I focused on the output more than the size. This thing is huge. :panic:

It is nice, though. Damn.

A crackhead tried to sell me that generator in a 7-11 parking lot. My brother intervened and told the guy to get lost and called the cops on him...
