If I go out west and geek out on the rocks. I would be afraid to stumble on a bear's den. While scrambling away I get stung by a scorpion. Then a mountain lion finishes me off. I only have to worry about ground bees and rattle snakes here.
Not sure what I have to worry about over here?
I dunno..... socialists????

I can only speak for shit locally but have never heard of any anti MTB stuff at all. The only "get the fuck off this trail" incidents have been people yelling at hikers on DH specific trails. I guess there has been some kerfuffles over roadside parking up at Galbraith, I hardly ever make it up there as that drive makes me want to veer into a bridge abutment, which wouldn't do much going 3 MPH.
hella jelly

who was that wilderness nut motherfucker who got a statue built of him when he died that was a frothing idiot with regards to mountainbikes?

there's a hilarious pic out there of the guys who started evergreen all standing around that statue grinning?

The stats suggest you should worry more about these two assholes:

More people are killed by large herbivores than by predators.

In North America, moose attack more people than bears and wolves combined.

Worldwide, hippos injure more people than any other animal, and moose rank second.

I've seen moose twice, and one of the times a big male chased us. Had to retreat into a stand of small closely growing trees he couldn't follow into. If they were any dumber they'd wear MAGA hats.

Nowhere Man!
I recently had a Spider in my tent. I am pretty sure it was a black widow. I panicked and smooshed it with my flashlight. The next day when I woke up my friend Jamie's kid made fun of me for screaming so loud. He is 11 and I hate him. I regretted letting him sleep in my tent when it started raining. I falsely accused him of masturbating for not laughing at my jokes. I put raisins in his oatmeal in the morning because he said he hates them. I gave him the cold pancakes with no butter and mrs butterworths syrup instead of the real stuff like his friends. Only he complained about the Spam. I cut his extra thick.

Alex... Is this you? Your Mom said she isn't going to forward your allowance to me. I am sorry for accusing you of masturbating. Really, I am... Please tell your Mom I said I was sorry.

I could be living underneath a rock but that all seems.to be in the past. Also at this point I think most people are fairly happy to see other users as the increased number of eyeballs reduces the chance of getting shanked by a meth head in the parking lot.

Good. As much as I hate the imba gentrified shit evergreen has built so much of, they were a huge part in getting mountainbikers out and visible by getting more family friendly stuff on the ground. I'm glad it is, but not just because that hiker zealot population somehow came to their senses or anything. Similar to here everyone who hikes just knows a mountainbiker now and isn't fed the late 90s/early 2000s bs of how a mountainbike is going to end nature. I give credit to evergreen there, especially being neighbors with that asshole.

But yeah, I've had bitchy hikers lecturing me on the 90 corridor, not in the last 5-7 years but also not too too long ago.

Only time I've run into that was when I was living in Southern Germany for a while, and then lol here in NZ on a famous MTB track BY a German tourist!!!!!!!

So they’re looking for a bear wrestler who can pass a drug test ? Good luck with that search.

Must be a weird winter out there, Ive seen more bear encounters on my feeds from friends in the last couple of weeks than I've heard of in a lifetime.
slow start

not much snow and just as many dumbasses leaving food out and dumpsters open

I've had the mountainbiking equivalent to that happen way more at whistler than in any ski season here.

Gotta train these bears to go for the knees....
