Yeah, steerer tube/stem mounted Wahoo is the best IMO. Got the setup on 2 bikes now. I use the K-Edge mount. Good stuff.

Wow. That is one fancy piece of kit! I'm sure it's awesome.

Did you want to lower the bb or steepen the head angle? Both?
I've gotten used to the bike now and found myself understeering in certain situations. I'm looking forward to seeing if its quickened up some.

But won't that ruin Mullet's super-proprietary-secret-sauce-only-their-geometry-will-work?

The bikes are ideally forked at 140mm and I've just been letting it all hang out. Didn't want to dig into the fork until I had some time on it and had a good idea of why I wanted to adjust the HT angle.

Replacement of one for another. This explains much of why the one had a weird wobble. Perhaps the another will be fine.

DHRII DH --> Assegai DD.

Also straightened out a couple rim side bits that were a bit wonky.

@buckoW How did your bike end up? I haven't been doing squat or even riding for a bit...so haven't really been online....but I do tell people about your bike a fair bit
The last black one is my 3rd favorite but I haven’t given the suspension enough dialing in to give it a fair shake. I’ve been enjoying the shit out of all of them. My wife loves hers too.

Did some prep for the Thunder Mountain trip I just bailed on due to my thumb.
Just a little bitter about that...

New bigly rotors for the Hope T3V4s.
Big rotors.jpg

TRP 223mm (2.3mm thick)

PM is supposed to be for 203, and works great with a 203 direct mount. 20mm mount should be good for a 223 rotor no? A 20mm - the only thing they had Galfer mount that I ened up having to use two washer to space the caliper to clear the rotor. Bit jankey but it was only going to be for this trip.
Not sure :wtf: is going on with that...

Going from my Magura 220 rotor to the TRP 223 *should* mean I just needed to place a small 1.5mm spacer in between the brake and spacer, but for some odd reason it required more than that.

Because the mount isn't radially centered and trigonometry. The standard 203 mm adapter has an 11 and 17 mm thickness.

When it is marketed as as a PM to PM +20mm adapter....to my admittedly simple self, that should mean that any math is taken care of.
You would hope so but I don't think +20mm works for all Post to rotor sizes and is probably specific to 180->200, 203->223 ETC

Fuck, all I know is that I would like an adapter that is actually available and does not need to meet MacGyver to work. Was reading on empty beer about a guy who bought a bunch for his 40 and 223 rotor and not a one of them worked.

Wonder if a standard 23mm would work...possibly a bit too much?

Like Kidwoo alludes too, the problem is not every disc brake manufacturer places their caliper in the same radial position, so one companies "20mm" may not be 20mm for another, once you take into account the caliper's mounts. So ideally you only buy the company's adapters, but in reality availability and failure to adapt to changing rotor sizes usually means mis-matched adaptors and calipers are at least in play.

Ya, I went through that with Hope a year or so ago. Wanted the 225 rotor, which was available in bulk, probably because they did not have an adapter that would work with a 203 DH fork PM.

Strangely my adapters on the trailbike - Fork 180 Post, 203 disk NSB +23mm works perfectly, same as the 160 - 180 +20mm NSB out back.

If it is a radial position problem, then I wonder who's brake alignment aftermarket companies like Galfer or North Shore Billet use? SRAM or Shimano would be my guess.
Being 223 rotors and Hope brakes, that makes it a bit of a problem as Hope have 220 and 225, but not 223 disks. I had a quick look and still could not find a 203-225 adapter, they have 203-220 though that would obviously not work.

Motorcycles figured this out a while ago with radial mounts. However I can see how that would be problematic on the rear of a bike.

@mykel NSB website has different +20 and +23 versions so they seem to be aware of the geo issues. Maybe the 200mm mount to 220 rotor adapter would be close enough? Worth an email to NSB.
