yeah, even a simple swappable / flippable dropout insert would go a long ways to achieving a one swingarm for all sizes fit. some adjustability should be the de facto standard, really.

They could even elongate the slot and make a few different pill shaped inserts to create different sizes.

I read the Spindrift article this morning. I really like the look of the Propain bikes, and their price point is great. I was more interested in the Tyhee and did some research months ago, but reviews seemed to indicate it was not very supple and didn't feel great through chatter and chunk. Coil was the recommended way to go due to the progressive nature of the design. I do prefer the new layout with the shock inside the front triangle. Unfortunately I haven's seen any on the the trails to ask for feedback.

I think that Spindrift would be more interesting with a degree slacker head angle, but with a starting stack of 643/646 on a large in the 29 front end variants adding an angle reducing headset is going to get super tall. Even more if you want to run a dual crown.

This bike check remind me how long it has been since Saint was launched. Only spd pedals have been added lately...
Shimano could at least rebadge the xtr brakes with Saint logo :brows:

fun fact: saint is now the shimano groupset that has been on the market the longest without changes (8 years and counting). next closest is Ultegra 9 speed (1997, 7 years).

i guess i should clarify, the *current iteration* of a particular groupset. saint M820 (current version) was launched in 2012 and hasn't been changed since. the second longest unchaged group was ultegra 6500 (9 speed) which was launched in '97 and was unchanged for 7 years until 2005 when ultegra 6600 (10spd) was released

for anyone curious, the shimao wiki page has nice tables of all groupsets by level / platform / year of release. table for road is first, then mountain.

While we are at it, I have been enjoying navigating through https://si.shimano.com/ and https://productinfo.shimano.com/#/com. Had to help a friend to make the jump from 2x10 to 1x11 and those sites helped me sort out some chain line compatibility issues between the new crop of cranks and an old 12x142 frame/hub.

Okay the new XL Stumpjumper EVO has a 528 REACH. Apparently me talking about their Smurf engineers has finally been addressed. Plus it has 6 adjustments in total I believe with HA, WB and BB adjustability.

Has the spesch design team been inspired by fluorescent Euro'vibes? :dirol:

Anyhow, nice to see more bikes with built in adjustability :clapping:
