Hiding from the stupid
I'm pretty sure I win today's round

Bear Republic - Racer 15
Russian River - Pliny the Elder
Lips of faith/Alpine - Super IPA

All were outstanding but I would give the nod to the Super IPA. I've had it before and was impressed but it stood out even more in the taste test. Get some if you have a chance.

This place has been discussed in another thread but the tap list is curated like a fine art exhibit.

I owe you a cock punch for not ranking the Bear Republic highest. :monkey:

Had a couple Bell's Hopslam on tap last night. God damn that's a good beer. Too bad it's always so hard to get - at least one local bar announces when they're tapping their keg every year so I can have a couple... you have to get in line for the six packs around here.

This week had some good beers for the first time in a while:
-Paulaner Salvator Dopplebock
-Bear Republic Big Bear Stout
-Avery Salvation

All were pretty good, though the stout was probably the best of the bunch. Still have a Stone Double Bastard in the fridge (saving the best for last, hopefully). Maybe tomorrow or the day after. I'm drinking some Old Crow Reserve right now, though. Not too bad given the cheap, cheap price.

On our trip to Puerto Rico:

About the only decent brew-pub / brewing that we could find. The local beer is *utter* crap, but they did have a surprising amount of imports. Drank Racer 5, Fuller's London Pride, and Bell's Two Hearted while we were down there. One of the best parts of the burger/beer joints that we went to in San Juan was that they obviously had *no* idea what they were serving. They had Bell's Oberon (under "B"), but Two Hearted under "T" as if Two Hearted was the brewery....

Then of course there was the standard Corona w/ lime, Presidente and Gasolina!

(not my picture)

WTF is that stuff?!? Was it any good?
Define "good". They're cheap Capri Sun-style packets of juice and rum. They're $1-2, have 9% alcohol but only 6.75oz so you're probably getting as much booze as a bottle of beer. Decent when served straight from the freezer, and get worse as they warm up. Only available in Puerto Rico, so we usually get a couple whenever we go down there for novelty's sake.

Gasolina!

Sierra Nevada Torpedo.

Side note: does anyone think that the quality of Sierra is gonna go down when the new brewery opens in North Carolina? I'm concerned that it will be different and that I'm going to need to seek out the Cali beer

Dear Awesome Beer Thread,
It's been a few months since my last tipple. Forgot how great you can be.

Also this item in the paper caught my eye (and my brain, reminding me I had the Bock in the fridge). Be keen to try this, don't mind a little history lesson with my beer even if microbrewers are gold medallists at the Wankolympics.
After more than 130 years and some very late nights trying to decipher a dusty notebook, Australia's once lost beer was flowing from the taps of Melbourne's famous Chloe's Bar at the Young & Jackson pub yesterday, giving drinkers the chance to taste a colonial beer from the 1870s.

Left Hand Nitro Stout.
I can appreciate the high alcohol % but the flavor is middling.

Harpoon 100 Barrel Series 'Directors Cut'
Hybrid of IPA and Stout.
Awesome but wicked limited availability.
