The bunker at parliament
Drinking the very very very last bottle of Waldhaus Dopplebock.
Sh*t.
bugger
F*ckery.
It is highly likely I will never drink this beer again as it is only brewed once a year, in a small batch, and I will be highly unlikely to ever be in Baden Würternburg between late October and early December (it always sells out).

The first time I ever had this beer was with the team at Hashigo Zake, and it was amazing!
When I ordered as much as the brewery would let me have the following year it was very much a sweet inoffensive bottle of bland. it only vaguely resembled the beer that we had in the tasting and evaluation session.
Much disappoint. :-(

The very last bottle of this beer I have beside me right now in the oh so beautiful Jubiläums glasser. It expired October last year.
The aging has changed a few things in the beer.
Those changes has been all kinds of Teh Ø for ørsome.
The beer now exactly matches my recollections of the first bottle at Hashigo Zake.
Unfortunately as the bottles brought by Hashigo (after I sold the brands I was bringing in to them) didn't get that aging they sucked young and won't be imported again.

Bugger.

Currently nothing, but if all goes well this evening I'll be done in SC and can go home tomorrow. Should that be the case, I'll be partying like it's 1999 tonight.
Forgot to follow up. Found a bar that was (clearly mistakenly) serving me Willett 21yr bourbon for $12. I drank the hell out of it.

Currently, Gubna.

Just had the idea to stick my flash behind the black IPA I poured tonight.

Mendocino Black IPA. It's pretty good.

You like it? I've been reluctant to buy it as I've read several very disparaging reviews, plus it's kind of spendy around these parts.

Gin and tonics for me today.
I had it once at a bar. I was pretty drunk, so I wouldn't say it was the most fair review, but I wasn't too impressed.

Currently drinking a Lagunitas Imperial Mild ale. It's... interesting. Definitely the most mild 10% beer I've ever had. Not sure if that's a good thing.
Having the second out of the 6'er now. It's uncanny how much it tastes like a nice, sessionable pale ale. Except it's 9.6% abv.

Can't believe I've missed this thread... Anyway, my GF is the Beverage manager for 4 restaurants a few blocks from our house in Baltimore. Between the 4 restaurants they have 25-30 beers on tap and over 150 bottled beer. Needless to say, her job comes with a few perks, every other week she brings home samples from various Brewers (liquor as well) and it's my job to give her my opinion on each. This is my homework for the night/weekend:

Finch's Beer Co. - Fascist Pig Ale
Finch's Beer Co. - Threadless IPA
Finch's Beer Co. - Golden Wing Blonde Ale
The Just Beer Project - Just IPA
Public Works Ale - Fair Shake American Pale Ale
DuClaw Brewery - Funk (Blueberry citrus wheat)
Saranac - Blueberry Blonde Ale

Another one my buddy brought back from NC.

I love having friends who are also beer nerds who bring me such awesome beers every time they come back home to visit :D

Last night:

Started with a Hoegaarden.
Moved to a Bruery Oude Tart (it was even better than the last time!! If you can find it, BUY IT!)
Finished with a Logsdon Saison Bretta (Holy crap. Gets better every time.)

Now: Bridgeport Kingpin (Triple hopped Double Red) - It's like a double red IPA...tasty!
Bridgeport Hop Czar - Kingpin is betta.

Then again... I don't like chile beer either.
Chile stouts can be awesome if they don't go full retard on the peppers. Chile lagers and the like are just plain nasty. Ditto for pumpkin beers.

Oh, and Wookey Jack. :monkey:
