that Untied will sometimes hold connecting flights. Not sure if they held it for me specifically bc of how much of my employer’s money I give them every year or my incoming flight as a whole.
Either way when I got to ORD I ran to my next gate thinking that I’d just barely make it. When the gate agent saw my name, she said “Oh, you’re our hold. Would you mind waiting a few more minutes? We are waiting for around 10 more people, but if we scan your boarding pass, we have to close the door.”
I thought that that was a pretty human play on their part, but I wonder how much they fucked up all subsequent use of that gate. Regardless, it gave me time to grab a latte and bought some additional time for a handful of other stragglers.
