My fantasy team destroyed the field today. Gwin, Bryceland, Brosnan, and Mosely....Bummer on a crash.... :-( Stoked for Gwin but I need Minnaar for my fantasy team.
Gwin has become a DH God!!! 3/4 baby!
the rumour has been they are a prototype DH rim from notubes. What rims is Gee on? I know they're branded Saint, but are they shimano made, or just something else, stickered up? If so, what? I've been told ZTR Flows, but I find it hard to believe Gee would be using something so fragile, especially somewhere like MSA.

didnt someone say they are DT rimsthe rumour has been they are a prototype DH rim from notubes.
I've heard DT, Mavic 823 and stans flows now.didnt someone say they are DT rims
Didn't more look like tire problems this time. Could just have been an unlucky flat. What rims is Gee on? I know they're branded Saint, but are they shimano made, or just something else, stickered up? If so, what? I've been told ZTR Flows, but I find it hard to believe Gee would be using something so fragile, especially somewhere like MSA.

Of course the correct answer is it probably varies - if I'm smart enough to run a light rim on a gentle course and an 823 down fort william, I'm betting Gee is too But it'd be interesting to know which set of rims they choose at each race.
Hahahaha that sucks. Back to the f'ing drawing board with that waste of a rim. Didn't it cost him in leogang? Stan needs to lay off the steak knife stabbing demo's and look into a metallurgy class....the rumour has been they are a prototype DH rim from notubes.
Maybe I missed something, but it looked like he just got a flat, when I saw him it was already off the rim... and a bit further down the line his tire balled up and stopped the wheel.Hahahaha that sucks. Cracked rim could = bye bye air??? I dunno. Missed his runMaybe I missed something, but it looked like he just got a flat, when I saw him it was already off the rim... and a bit further down the line his tire balled up and stopped the wheel.
I assume it was tubeless, but I didn't see any sealant or sealant residue on the rim or tire.
I thought tubeless was actually supposed to mean you pretty much never get flats... so, how does this happen?
But they didn't and at the end of the day that is racing.Great race, but you can't help but wonder how it would've turned out if Gee and Minnaar had clean runs... (Don't forget about Hill's absence either.)
He definitely didn't blow up his rim bad enough to detect on the feed (hd)... it looked round and true -- however I'd think sealant would take up any such leak if there was one.Cracked rim could = bye bye air??? I dunno. Missed his run
i didn't notice a tube or sealant mess either. maybe that was the issue...Maybe I missed something, but it looked like he just got a flat, when I saw him it was already off the rim... and a bit further down the line his tire balled up and stopped the wheel.

OR, you could say, can't help but wonder how the standings would've turned out if Gwin had not crashed in Ft. William...Great race, but you can't help but wonder how it would've turned out if Gee and Minnaar had clean runs... (Don't forget about Hill's absence either.)
No sign of a tube and the valve is still there. Looks like a stans tubeless or similar setup.
that flat spot directly under the right pedal looks big enough to cause a flat, especially if he wasn't running sealant
He rode pretty far on just the rim. I don't think you can use those pictures to place blame on the rim. It may have been 100% the rims fault, I don't know, but he did mutilate the rim after the flat too.that flat spot directly under the right pedal looks big enough to cause a flat, especially if he wasn't running sealant
true, very true....He rode pretty far on just the rim. I don't think you can use those pictures to place blame on the rim. It may have been 100% the rims fault, I don't know, but he did mutilate the rim after the flat too.

It's all racing; speed, skill and potential means nothing to the clock at the finish line.
When was this? What did I miss? Just re-watched Gwin's run and not sure what you're referring to?Hope the official doesn't radio down that he cut the course and didn't re-enter where he left. UCI is the suk after all....
Gwin win!
