38 mile ride to a glacier today, except the trail went to crap after about the halfway point out, where I got to within about 1/2 mile of the glacial moraine, but pushing on would have probably been 45 minutes and I was already at my turn-around point for darkness (had backup lights). Saw several jeep-groups out, a couple snow machiners, and some fat people on side-by-sides. Stormy day. Thank god for GPS.

Looking into the abyss of the Knik river:

I can't believe there's no snow down low. My snow report says Cypress is getting hammered with snow every day. :hmm:

Dirt conditions look amazing.
It was a little muddy... I suspect the skiing would be good too. But it’s warm out...

sweet day-tons of peeps out at the park because we're the only ones who never close the trail. eff the 24 hour rule.
we also don't ever blow the leaves. organic matter makes for nice dirt, yo! (but @Da Peach - your vegetation sure does look super...vegetationy!)

all the lips i rebuilt over the past week were nice and poppy. been working on a big ol rock huck. doesn't look so big from the top; view from the lander (which is maybe 15-20 non-pinkbike feet out) gives a little better perspective.

Some dipshits riding around this feature on our trail called "The Needle". Around 700mm wide, my bars are 810 plus the pogie anchor end-caps makes it at least 840. I got through fine. Luckily there are lots and lots of other places to practice tight stuff around here.

Beautiful winter day in the desert today. Supposed to get windy again tomorrow, and cold on Monday.

One of the things I love about this trail is you can see what you just climbed up (and bomb down later). You can probably see bench-cut trail on the hill on the right in fullsize pic.

It was a good day, made me feel good for a change amidst a series of bad lucks. Working on my second bottle of beer, going out to my backyard now to see sunset.

Inch of fresh snow on top if the ice out on the lake was great. Crossing some of the big pressure cracks had me clenching slightly...
