Dryness continues. Speed is off the chains and leading to new places to double up and get air.

Baked and dusty out there. Also hot and humid. Had a bit of wind so that helped at times. Overheard two different people exclaim, “f-img chaud!”

I had Blake ask Bethany the racer girl from Santa Fe area what she thought of Whitefish Resort on a scale of 10, if Angel Fire was 10. He copied her replies and sent them to me.

Blake also agreed with me that Silver Mountain is more fun to ride, though I'd place higher value on Bethany's opinion than ours - safe to say she's an experienced competent rider judging by her race result (1st place Cat 1 19-39 at Whitefish round) whereas we are just a couple of schmucks who have yet to ride any bike park in CO.

With that said, the area is spectacular (as long as smoke isn't too thick) and Glacier Nat'l Park is an hour away. Cheap beer and hearty meals don't hurt either. Definitely worth visiting... just saying you guys probably want to get your level of expectations down by a notch or two if you go to the bike park. Hope it helps you.

Thanks, we'd wanted our trip next month to combine a Jackson, Whitefish and Big Sky bike parks trip. But Big Sky has what looks like their main lift closed for construction this summer.

So I've got something even bigger being considered :D

Big Sky will have to wait until next year.

@jstuhlman the problem is all the shite between here and East coast riding, but we'd definitely love to make a NC riding trip at some point. Haven't been in 6+ years.

More Le Massif today. Hands are smoked.

Their single tech trail is so much more difficult than everything else on the mountain, it's a little hair raising at first. But steep, loose loam interspersed with steep rock rolls.

The ending.

Camera of course makes it look pretty pedestrian. :D

Canal and river cruising. Second time on the road bike this year and I can tell :) Also that pink house that @jdcamb posted earlier.
