Have been enjoying the new orientation of the bike paths where you ride between the sidewalk and parked cars. The little guy has also felt much better about that too. Some images from the week.
So I played tour-guide for a fellow rider from the Seattle area yesterday. Got me a free beer and prezels out of it! I took him on the local city trails that we have here, where we have directional DH trails and up-tracks. He didn't want to ride at first though, because he had a horrible rental bike from down in Girdwood. Someone had reversed the brake levers...the easy way, by installing them on the opposite sides, upside down. Fork and shock were all whacked out. I was able to set them up on my Canfield, since they ride the same size and were at about the right weight.
I rode my fat-bike. My enduro fat-bike with skinny wheels. Every time I do this little feature, I go a little bit further. It's a bit scary because you can't see anything unto you are well off the top and there's a wheel-catcher 6" root we cut away that you might land on if you are a little too far left. If you are launching or just rolling, it's really hard to plan for unless you've ridden it before. Anyway, he did ok on the trails loved our DH trails, and it was a great ride.
Took it easy and cleared some easy to move trees and blocked this detour around the tree on the right. There is one little root and people gotta go around it?? Or maybe they are cutting wide, to roll onto the intersecting trail?? Anyways, half assed blocked now.
Humid jungle.
Saw some horses on steep single track and lots of other hoof damage. What the heck man.
