Tomorrow I am planning to finally ride south from Targhee Pass (W Yellowstone) on the "tasty" CDT singletrack on Two Top all the way back to the shitbox via Reas Pass and then some less tasty sandy ATV twin track I've recently been fat biking (sandy roads are sandy) back down to the river put in + 4 road miles...

I thought you'd purchased a new velocycle?

Was blowing like crazy up there. This has 3 significant bike-portage sections where you are best off with it on your back...I only got up one (in the picture) before I had to turn around due to the wind and cold. Already had two jackets on.

Shuttled CDT from Targhee Pass to the shitbox, probably 26ish miles 2000 gain and a bit more loss.

4th of July is high season so I was not surprised to see 6 -- SIX!!!!!! -- cars at the lot.

Passed two sets of bikers and a gaggle of hikers returning in the first 30 mins and was alone til two lycra clad cyclists passed me towards to the top.

As it should be.

Then ran into a CDT (partial) through hiker from France who juggled his trip because the Colorado high country is still white.

He had some fancy trekking umbrella, I need to investigate further...

This is the turnaround spot for the normal out and back

Sawtell peak across the way

There was a 6 mile mostly downhill 1600' section that did not disappoint.

Shittiest part was ATV / gravel / sand 6 miles back to the road

I wished I could "go go gadget copter fatbike"

8/10 would bang again.
