The non gruesome results my last ride..

Lets just say that even if it's kinda warm (relatively speaking) don't ride icy trails with out gloves unless you like getting a bunch of stitches in your palm. :(
Damn, that sucks. Healing vibes to you! Hope you have wife/GF, or are left-handed.

Monday was cold AF by NC standards. The trails were frozen solid so we got a rare opportunity to actually ride. Found this alternate lump jump and fooled around there for a while... Nice while it lasted, back to 34 degrees and pissing rain today.

Finally back on the bike after 8 weeks recovering, can't do anything crazy or single-track, but at least I can roll these ski trails...

Now I have to worry about Moose also? WTF? I quit smoking pot for this... Jeez...
I made this depiction of the directional (depends on days of the month, even/odd) trails in one of our parks a few years ago:

Found out 26psi wasn't enough even with a Cushcore. Only had 84 miles on the tire, and dented the rim a little. Dammit.
What? 26 psi + Cushcore? Front or rear tire? Sounds more like you are extremely unlucky (or have sharp rox). What tire/casing is that? Michelin? What are these 4 stripes on the sidewall for?

You're right, all of the above. I weigh 175~180 in freedum unit, so not really that heavy. It should have been ok under normal circumstances.

Lot of dirt got washed away off our trails from hurricane Rosa last October, exposing lots of granite and lava rocks. I popped off a rock at around 20 mph and just landed on one of those pointy rocks.

The tire was mounted on rear, E13 semi slick with enduro casing. No idea what those stripes are for.

I could definitely do that at 26psi with a 2.3-2.4ish tire if I hit a rock hard. 165lbs. Either set your pressure high enough for 100% of anticipated situations, or low where it works for 99.9% of terrain, but when you encounter that 0.1%, it'll dent your rim...

Looking good, Jim! :headbang:
Thanks Cold weather activities are very good for me... My friend Jamie picked me up and threw me in the snow. My Glasses and I became separated. Jamie had 2 choices find my glasses and get a ride home or. Buy me new glasses and we both get to walk home. It took him 2 hours, but he found my glasses.
