A house 1/20th the size on the land would be nice.

This is more my style of an "estate"

Way back I had a retired NYPD cop move across the street from me. One of the many reasons I was happy to get the fuck out of that place. Psychopath would get into people's faces and scream at them for such crimes as laughing in their yards past 6:00 PM despite the fact he would run a leaf blower 6 hours everyday to remove every possible leaf or stick from his yard.

When my dog was a puppy he got out of the yard. I was ten feet away and immediately calling him back, and he was listening to me. Pup got about 5 feet into the cul de sac street and this guy tried to tackle him. His hand got caught in his collar and he got dragged across chipseal with some pretty nasty road rash before the dog sat at attention in front of me.

Good boy.

The estate's most unusual feature may be its underground bunker to provide security in case of disaster.

The shelter is 56 feet by 18 feet, or about 1,000 square feet, bigger than many apartments. It has a vault, an air-filtration system, shock-wave protection, and a security system for monitoring the property's more than 30 cameras.

Off-grid and in Manton, CA? Probably appropriately valued. :D

Oh - and almost GUARANTEED you can't get insurance for it, which means no taking out a mortgage.

Sold for $240K in 2020, now at $175K. Meanwhile, average sale price nationally has gone up 30% in that time. Place must really be special.

I was thinking about Scottish ‘Right To Access’ laws in regards to this property. Say some billionaire built an airstrip, etc, and wanted a totally private compound. Could that be fully legal? Or could anyone with a boat come and roam around (exception being maybe where the sheep are, and the house/etc?
