Bout time for new hoops. I am currently running WTB weirwolfs 2.5's and love them but they are getting pretty bare.
The only crap to ride out here is really soft sand with scattered sharp rocks.
What do you guys run out here or what do you recommend? TIA
I am currently in 29 Palms and just got offered a better paying job in Barstow. Is Barstow better than the palms(it has to be), as far as riding, living is concerned? I'm not from these parts so hook a brotha up.
so my 05 AS-X that I bought 2 months ago ends up being an 03 as-x. The only reason I found out is when I went to order a new spring for the 5th element(that should have given it away) its was a 2.25 stroke, 77/8 eye to eye. Why god....
I have an 05 asx and I am running the convertible azonic outlaw wheels that have the 12MM? thru axle. I know I won't get all the strength out of it due to the standard QR dropouts on the frame but is there a 12mm thru axle that is reduced on the ends to standard QR? Maybe just notched or...
I'm guessing you're riding mostly freeride. If you already have the preload maxed out (3mm or 6 turns from contact) and still have 50% sag, go with the next size up spring.
I have an 05 with the 5th element and had to change out from the 450 to the 600# spring for my weight(205 plus gear)...
I bought a new spring for my 5th element, they were the only ones that had it. I ordered it on Thursday, 6 days of processing later it shipped. If I didn't live in SoCal, that would have been two weeks of waiting for a part that was in stock. Never again.
Went up to Big Bear this weekend and the chick told me my AS-X was a no go on the lift, (2.5 tires/ DC / chain guide). Whats the next best thing around here?
I will be moving out to 29 palms in June sometime. If there isnt any freeride stuff around, we will build it. Thats what we have to do here in TX anyway......
