Not to say that it can't be that light, but still...I had a 08 radical last year, with pretty similar parts(only no ti spring), some even lighter. I think that wheels in last year bike were a bit lighter with DT hubs and 5.1d rim. Anyway, it was something in 17.5kg. It was a large frame, so it...
I have no experience on earlier 40's, but 09 definitely has very decent compression adjustment range. You can set it up very soft or quite hard, not locked out as with Boxxer motion control but hard enough. Other than that, I have been riding only boxxers for few years, and while I always liked...
Had same kind of problem with 06 sunday frame. If I remember right, chain was actually rubbing on frame with 11 teeth sprocket, worked ok with 12 tooth. Not sure if it was about chainline or what, but 11 just seemed to be too small.
Don't know about Metel, but I believe that it has pretty much same damping system to Radium, and radium has a very weird preloaded shimstack. Purpose for this is to act as a somekind of platform, but actually it just makes shock feel very stiff and overdamped. If you get that metel shimmed...
Many people are saying that it takes baggy "mx style", "cool" clothes to make downhill more interesting to sponsors and big audience. I think that it really is the opposite, no one is going to take downhill as a sport seriously as long as top racers are wearing something that is not optimum for...
Hi everyone, anybody know if there is any difference between 2007 and 2008 Commencal Supreme DH frames? They look like pretty similar. Commencal web site gives slightly slacker head angle for 2008 frame, but not sure if they are just using different head angle-sleeve setup for measurements.
It seems that rear lower dw-link pivot is problem with many 06 sundays. I had same problem, both side-to-side and up-and-down play that got fixed with few extra spacer. I also know a couple of other guys here in finland with same problems. I also had to change both upper dw-link seattube pivot...
You propably have the same problem that I had with my 06 frame, too small spacers between bearings and dw link. I fixed it with two very thin shims. I have understood that this is pretty common problem with 2006 sunday frames.
Kuulostaa kovin tutulta. :) I had same problems before bike had been ridden at all. I fixed it with two very thin spacers, it seems to be working fine. I also had to put small spacer(or actually a shim plate) to upper shock mount to get it tight.
Yes, my frame came with 5th element shock and it really felt better(than 224-tuned 6way), so I think that "sunday-tune" makes sense. That's why I would like to know what is done to 5th's that come with sundays, but it seems to be a bit of a secret...:)
Where it goes wrong is when you assume that all shocks have same amount of rebound damping, because that is not the case. What you need to do is assume that rebound speed on all shocks is equal, in other words rebound is tuned correctly according to spring rate. There is no point to just pick...
I would also be interested what "sunday-tune" exacly includes, as I have a shim-stack manitou 6way that was tuned for Orange 224 and is now going to be used in sunbay. As spring rates doesn't differ that much(350 vs 300) I can't see how rebound could be only 1/3 of what I was running in 224. If...
I put in two 0.25mm shims, they seem to do the job. We don't have official 5th element service in finland, but I talked with importer and he is paying for service in local bike shop, so it should be fine. Btw, there was also something internally wrong with the shock, it was making terrible...
Hi !
Just got a 2006 sunday frame and having some problems with that. I found something with search, but still have some questions. First is that lower dw link(the red anodized one) has some play in rear pivot, it's kind a floating like 1-1.5mm, it seems that spacers might be too thin. Is...
