New warranty frame, this thing is hotter than ever, even though it's colour scheme is quickly becoming cliche:

    costom Ti FR bike

I think that that's 'cause of the flexiness of ti. I don't think that many susmension designs function too well if the parts are flexing, so it's not a great choice for the rear end of a suspension bike that has any pivots. For all the haters out there: Anyone I know who's ridden and/or...

BIG RACE-why is no one signed up?

    Good HipHop

Hypocritical post time: To all the hip-hop haters: Critizing someone else's tast in music is stupid. It's kinda like getting on their case about what food they like. Almost every genre has some good artists and a buttload of horrible ones. Yes, classical, metal and classic rock included...

    BB going Bad?

Paully's got some good info there. Something else that you can do when the chain is off is spin the cranks and put your ear against the seat (not right after rideing though, yech!) and listen to the BB bearings. Worked ones will pop and crack, ones in good condition will have a smooth...

Female Orgasm is "Just for Fun"

The neat thing about evolution is that they could both be right: Alcock says it may be a way of evaluating male quality. Whatsherface sys that it could have arisin from the anatomical similarities between males and females. The possibility of a female orgasm allows for females to choose...

    normal OT: pool/billiard cues

Oh, online: I wouldnt buy a cue online, there's no way to tell if the cue is warped, and shippping had a high probability of warping it. Buy near where you play and if you travel alot with your cue then is the time to buy something that's wrapped in CF or fibreglass.

    normal OT: pool/billiard cues

Online I don't know too much. I haven't come across a CF cue that plays as well as a quality wood cue however. The shafts tend to become sticky (although newer ones can be better) and like early CF bikes they tend to feel dead. Light weight is not neccissairly a plus, pool cues are...

    derailleur?

If you break rear d's that often the only solution is to be a little more careful with your cornering. I's suggest swinging the back end a little wider (to more closely match the front tire's path) as opposed to dragging it through stuff (cutting the corner with the rear tire). Sorry...

    bike mag reviews

Oh yeah, original topic: Mag reviews by the MTB mags are lame. Borderline worthless at best. I'd trust almost anything that VeloNews has to say though.

    bike mag reviews

Flexy wheels do suck, I'm running the ones that came stock on last years Allez Elite and they bug the hell out of me. I think that they're even creaking now. Damn it!Why can't bikes come with Shimano hubs (with a normal spoke count), DB DT spokes, and Open Pros? Why do they always have to...

    bike mag reviews

I'm pretty sure that you know it's not only a psycological advantage. Lighter wheels espically feel faster, and carry speed better on grinding climbs. I think that we're bothe hitting the same points here actually: weight is important, but most recreational riders shouldn't blow tons of cash...

    bike mag reviews

I hear 'ya, steel roadies are nice. And lugged ones are nice to look at. I'm a big fan of a strong chassis (frame and fork) and nice light parts, especially wheels. Holy cow, I just realized that all my bikes are steel now! I must be retro!

    bike mag reviews

i don't know about you guys, but I actuallly enjoy riding light bike more than heavy ones, espically roadies. I don't race (against other people), so I'm not going to go crazy on buying lightweight stuff, but it is a factor in any road bike purchace. (of course there are other factors...

    spinal injuries...help!

I broke t-6 and t-8 in March '04 and I'm back on the XC. If he can walk right now I'd bet he'll be OK alot quicker. I had to stay in bed 24-7 for three months, and about 18 hrs. a day for another two or three. No surgery though, I thak my lucky stars for that 'cause after everything is sorted...

Slipped disc in lumbar spine, Iron Horse 7point, and a Yeti AS-X

Since you said this is to be your only bike: less is more. I've found that 5x5 or 6x6 is almost perfect for Victoria, unless you're shuttling (Or huckin' the serious shiz on Broom Hill etc) a DH bike is too much for all the pedalin' required around here. Anyone I know that makes a really big...
