Short lil ride after work, dodging hikers and staying as far away from those without helmets.

Old motocross pit, from before that bridge was built and surrounded by homes.

Another short post work ride for me as well.

Even more people in there without helmets - on proper trails too, not some gravel path.

But that weather though, perfect!

Someone finished a new unsanctioned trail and left some punji sticks. Le sigh. I hate trail sanitizing, but no one wants to get stabbed by a stump, should you fall.

I love riding at this time of year. No bugs, not too many people, and clear lines of sight to spot new lines. Did a flat loop yesterday on a trail that's really rough. Hit all the "play" zones too. It was great.

(that's the slab I lapped Tuesday with my son. He was most impressed)

this one's a little deceptive. it's not tall, but it's a notch you have to drop into it at a 90° angle.

I'll also take this time to note how much of a difference new bearings make to a bike. Probably one of the most overlooked service items out there.... People might not change bikes so often if they knew that little secret.

Family ride at the Whitewater Center in Charlotte today. Before the rain started, we stopped for lunch (and a beer for Mom and a Dad).

My daughter was hating it because there was a bit of climbing but she liked the trail. We were concerned that we scared her with the climbs (and I’m a VERY poor climber). Afterwards, she was open to doing it again, and says she MAY want to go to a mountain bike camp this summer, which is awesome...but no pressure on this end. Awesome.

Since COVID I’ve only ridden with my immediate family due to some medical issues with family members (and me to an extent). Now that I’ve had my initial Pfizer stab I’m ready to open that up and meet new people ‘round here.

All of this said, don’t discount riding with the fam if they are remotely interested. It’s very rewarding......

Todays ride with wifey started on our road bikes.

Then it migrated on to our rigid 29er's and we had the dog along.

Then finished with a nice 1300ft descent on the DH bikes.

Nothing says thank you for an unsanctioned trail like a big fat constitutional

Pic from the same ride. A friend bailed because of the rain. We went anyways and were rewarded with the rain stopping about ten minutes before arriving AND found 10/10 hero dirt conditions.

Everything is starting to turn green again, which should make @Westy happy. :D

Exhibit B, Aridzona coming in two weeks.
You'll probably be able to catch desert bloom in Sedona/Prescott. It's just getting started in lower elevation now. Palo Verdes were looking pretty in Bullhead City today.

I'm heading out to work tomorrow. Maybe I'll see you if I get back in time.

Yeah, wx will have a lot to do with where I ride. Hoping to start near Prescott a s will eventually get over to Payson. I hear about some new good stuff phx, but I don’t want to fry.
