Usually don't have to buy much bear spray. If you ride a bunch, you find lots of it just laying around.

Perfect temps on the ride today. Hardly broke a sweat. The tent caterpillars are chomping away, leaving a carpet of green on the forest floor. Demo of the 60s era interchange entrance into the park continues. Anyone know birds? This one was solid blue with a pretty song. Also, it looks like the lookouts are opening back up.

Tent caterpillars are fierce here this year. Lots of brown patches on local ridges.

My kid’s school got a pump track built on their playing field. Goes alongside the existing bike loop they have with seesaw, rock garden, wobbly bridge, slalom poles, all that kinda stuff. I am stoked to ride it but it’s not allowed yet till it beds in a bit from the rain. It’s been long enough that grass has started to grow on the edges… Mind you it grows pretty fast here…

I’m stoked for the kids. Never had this stuff when I was at school… Although I did get to ride BMX mini and vert for PE class at secondary.

Construction-ville. Some of the 20+ major construction sites I passed on a short ride this am.
And a little hitch hiker.

New Stem Cap too?
Alas, not yet.

My ham fisted star nut install took its toll on the headset bolt... hard not do when you don’t have the right tool, and are fretting over messing up your CSU joint... and a lower end of so-so bike mechanic...

Besides, I still have that stain of an OEM stem to deal with one day.

clean bike is clean
Yeah, the uber clean fork made the rest of the bike look overly neglected. Gave it a bit of a polish.

I need to get some of that silicone shine stuff. They treated it when I got the new rig ride wrapped. That stuff makes it shed dirt like a champ.

The tires could use some good ole user car dealership treatment, too. :D

Ride after work featured easy, but fast sandy trails. Incoming rain kept all the delicate flowers away.

Not a great start to the ride though. I forgot my hydration pack, so could not enjoy water during the ride, nor did I have any tools. Could have used the shock pump for the fork..oh well. Quite certain that the derailleur is crooked, too. Need to service the dropper post something pierce.

And my right foot keeps going numb while riding. Not sure what's up with that...

But a ride is a ride, so all good. :thumb:

Thanks for the invite :p:p

Hope it was good! Did you guys get rained on?
Yup. Last couple of runs. Sitting on a chairlift in the rain sucks.
BUT.....

Damn does that sand firm up nice. Best runs of the day, except for the lack of vision thing. I forgot how shit goggles are in a downpour.

ps - I got the call last night at 10:30 about a bit of lift service today. Next time I will drop you a PM when we head up. Crew today was 13? I think. Good times.

Finally put on the front xt brake, replacing my elixir from 2009. Feels pretty good, not as grabby or form as the rear, but I assume that will come when it beds in more. Peregrin was on the nest again.

No huge or anything, but an honest effort.

And my BB is dead. Sounded like a pepper mill on the last climb. My bike was whisper quiet yesterday...

Lazy slow flat ride. Took the opportunity and blocked some cheater lines.

Someone clobbered this lil rabbit and just left it on the trail. :(

Poor rabbit. Wife hit (and likely killed) a chipmunk stupid enough to run right under her front wheel today, that gave me the sads.
