Pretty great ride today.
Start of Windmill (lower), end of Carparts (upper). PB’d Carparts today, all time second in my age group. The top stats on Carparts are whack because there is a road bike stage right next to it so the top few spots are all crosstalk from that.

Then absolutely smashed the Ikagai -> Serendipity top to bottom. Now 7th all time of 141 other eMTBers. 5th this year and all time 1st in my age group.

Time for a shower and celebratory beers. Oh and the new Maguras (eStop MT5s) are dope, like having a 20mm bigger rotor, much less arm pump, much more control than the Code RSs, although I’ve been working out my forearms specifically too.

Lady friend rounding the bend out there in the field. She bent her thumb backwards bailing off a rock thing, so we had to cut it a little short.

Park vibes. Went to go see where a cyclist was killed in a crash with a truck on Monday. One of the shittiest roadworks/intersections around :/

Absolute beauty fall night ride. Hero dirt, perfect temperatures and no bugs*.

*except for whatever the hell these trees were covered in. Wooly aphids?

saw three gigantic bear dumps while i was riding today. their scale was truly impressive. never stopped for a pic tho so you'll just have to use your imagination. otherwise...just three non-action pics from the better pisgah. ye olde sign that lets you know you're getting near the goods, taking a break before beehive, which has always been rowdy but today seemed extra rowdy, and creek beer, of course!

Spring is sprunging over here, headed back to Makara for the first time in ages and amongst lots did the newly upgraded Northface. Very machine built flow vibes, except with tables and drops scattered about. Fun, somehow got alltime 6th of 157 ebikers. Can defo improve on that, was practically coasting through a couple of bits. Also my favourite Peak Flow has got nicely washed out and brake bumpy over winter and now kicks even more ass, might have to call it Peak Chonk soon. New trail Pōhatū is also bedding in nicely and is a rocky, droppy downhill tech lovelyness. That might be a favourite soon.
Great view from the top today, South Island clearly visible with some snow capped peaks.

And down...

Finished the day off with some dh. Got in the lift lime for one more run, but I guess my bike was done, because the rear went HISSSSS and flatted.
