Bryce?Hand and Foot cycles today. Scramble up a steep, icy and exposed slot canyon with numerous opportunities to fall several hundred feet with a single slip. Not today Satan, not today.
Canaan Wilderness. Next door to Zion but with zero people. Well I did see a Mormon family of 22 at the trailhead that looked at me like I was a demon.Bryce?

Great ride today, but had a little OTB action that finished me off. I normally ride up the hill then let a little pressure out of my front tyre for the gripping on the way down. Today I somehow managed to unscrew the valve core as well as the cap and a bunch of pressure came out. I topped it up with CO2 but it was still on the soft side. “I’ll give it a go!” I thought. To start with it was good, I could feel it was a fair bit softer than normal but also pretty great in the loose over hard of today. I did my normal top to bottom run and was smashing it, had a couple of woah moments in hard corners where I could feel it rolling about, but plowed on. On the bottom third, I came around this fast right hander into a drop, probably a bit too fast, came off the far right side of the drop and corrected in the air/landing but this was too much for old softee. Tyre let go and wheel went to 90°, and I went OTB. Had to walk it out. Little finger seems to be worst injury, armour saved the day for the most part but have some good scuffs on forearms and thigh.
Said drop, looks tiny of course. And indeed it is not big by any count.

When I got home the sealant had done it’s job and sealed the bead to the flat of the inside of the rim and it was still holding pressure. Impressive.

Still, some sticky scrubbing in my immediate future.
Must be beer o’clock.
Oh and I got a PB on the segment which was the top two thirds, so that’s good, and annoying.
Spot the crash at the end, lol:

That would have been loop one of two.Only ten miles? I thought e-bikers got more exercise than normal ones?
hahahaha. we found that out long ago riding the trails i took you on at wilsons in the snow. 2"-6" deep trail, ok. hit a ledge, encounter 12"-18" snow. DED.Today I learned that no matter how steep the hill is, if the snow is knee deep, you still come to a dead stop.
Also, brakes coated in snow are sub optimal.
Change of scenery today

yep. Got those too.Y'all enjoy elaborate trail signs up there.
I prefer them unmarked and camouflaged to deter visitors.
