What's that? Two dirt rides in three days* with Charcoal, including the baby trail in the Lionhead which is due for a cleaning** this weekend....

I don't know who this fat old fuck is in the mirror, in my mind I'm still a strapping young buck...

**Chainsaws, Backcountry horsemen, fat bikes and beer, tis a wonderful thing...

Short ride just to get out after having this cold. Can still feel it...

Found a new Osprey nest with two of them hanging out. I wonder how pissed off they get when the sprinkler is moved?

With the chemicals they are absorbing, they probably don't even notice...

That's a cool picture. When the water is on, those pivots are always moving. It will take like a day for a full circle.

I've got an Osprey nest outside my shop. They're cool birds.

Took a gravel ride through lots of cherry orchards.

MOAR:

USFS was out doing trail work on one of the trails, made a big difference too, good stuff.

Was off and on drizzle most of the time, but never cold and just great for riding.

Nice. I thought Smith Creek was really fun to come back on.

Barely visible: the moose cow / calf pair 50 yards ahead on the trail...

The chainsaw crews cleaned over 120 downed trees from 80 miles of singletrack in the Lionhead yesterday and finished 2 'keglets' of delicious MAP brewing beerz...

Now I just have to get my lungs and legs in shape to ride ;)

I rode enough of it to be pleased, will return if I get a chance.
glad you liked it. the builders have done a great job there. i think you can connect the trails to french creek as well.

the trail crew ive been working with (for the trails 10 minutes from me) is in the process of getting set up under the BTW (berks trail works) charter so we will be covered by their insurance as well. they are good dudes, well organized and hard working.

Pushed into the first corner and the feedback from my bicycle tire reminded me that I haven’t checked pressure lately. Decided to bail after the first section because it surely wouldn’t hold up to any fast/tech/jumps. Rode some road instead. Here is a fancy porsche I passed.
