All kinds of stupid on today's ride. Look at the fucking seatpost!!! WTF. How did I not see this? 16 miles out. No tools.

Cut the ride short. I got this bike a few years back at a thrift shop for $50.00. Too big for me but gunt friendly. I swapped a Salsa stem I found at the LBS. I also swapped the saddle - the orginal is too soft for me. I don't like padding. On this bike you have to pull the post to remove the saddle. I put it on backwards and adjusted it twice without noticing. After 10 miles I felt like the saddle nose was too wide, at 16 miles I stopped to get some blood flow and thats when I saw what I did. I usually ride the hoods (thats why Campy) and really didn't notice the reach. This bike is an AL frame with carbon fork and seat post. I am too short to benefit from the post. It's a harsh ride.

25.2 miles, 12.3 MPH, 123 AHR.

I have no idea where I am
Finally got a hike in after two plus months. Four hours and twenty minutes with 26 pounds up and down some rocky goodness. There were several cars in the parking lots but I know which trails are more popular and at what times so I was able to avoid the mouth breathers. Only came across one family of three, but otherwise was alone the rest of the time. Glorious. A few Rhodos were still in bloom, so purty.

Last of the base miles rides. Took the Serotta and didn't follow plan so now I am gassed. 41.56 miles, 12.8 MPH, 1289 feet of gain in 3 hours 15 minutes. 136.7 miles for the week, 440.2 for the month. In June I will focus on spin and climb.

Got caught out at 10,000ft in a lightning storm an hour away from the car. 50 minutes of riding in heavy rain and hail with lightning and thunder over head...At least we didn't get zapped.

About ten minutes after I took this picture, we too got caught in was seemed like a hurricane. The thunder rumbled no stop for ten minutes, it was dark enough in the forest that we could have used lights and the rain was heavy enough to turn the the trails into rivers. The pine trees I one section were bending over like wet noodles , which was a little unnerving. We bailed as soon as we could and went to a buddies house, who had lost power.

Will try to repeat and extend the ride today....

Different view this morning.

Rode an old or not used little trail connecting two of the "downhill" runs. 10/10 will bang again: off camber steep loam. Hell yeahs.

Those look like delicious semi-gringo tacos too. Excellent.
About 6 years ago they got in trouble for having a bunch of illegals living in the basement and working as cooks I could care less about all that, their food is delicious

the Mexican brother and sister that own it along with their spouses are the nicest people. I called in a to-go order and asked if I could pick up on the bike they told me "we will bring a chair outside and you will sit down relax and eat before it's gets cold

Please, don't misunderstand what I meant. I only said semi-gringo because I see cheese. That place sounds solid.

What an amazing temperature difference with the front that rolled through last night. Felt so incredibly fresh and lush this morning. Bit of moisture in the dirt too. Perfect conditions.

Taco Trucks give my life meaning but there is no such thing as a Mexican taco truck in Montana. There is a Taco bus in Dillon but too damn far. Eastern Washington has good ones, Pasco & Yakima. @boostingdoubles set me up good a few years back. :thumb:

What bike is that? I see what looks like an Evil logo on the downtube... didn't know they made an 853 Reynolds hardtail
