Just something I wanted to do after seeing the 08 worlds frame. There are a few other things not quite stock about the frame and I think it came to 9.9lbs with shock and Ti spring.

As for decals, I was going to do it but got lazy.

do you have tips where I mount derailleur/brake cables through inside shock arena?

Cables fit through there fine, just be sure to protect your frame from cable rub in this area as its easy to forget about it compared to other areas and you can get a fair bit of wear!

I personally only run the gear cable through the shock area, I've had too many problems with my m810's to justify threading it through there so I keep it on the outside for easy removal (I've warrantied a total of 5 brakes, my mate has managed the same)

What dramas have you had with the M810's out of curiosity?

I sold mine and will probably be jumping on a set of the ones, mine worked pretty well but the levers would get closer and closer to the bar over about a month and then you'd need to pump the lever with the caliper off to fix it again every now and then. Not cool.

Udi- they were all lever related problems. 4 out of the 5 sets, blew the seal where the piston goes into the lever body. When buying them, it's worth checking this seal and making sure its fully flush, if part of it is sticking up or if the whole thing has come out then you are probably gonna experience problems with losing pretty much all pressure etc like I did. I think there was a bit of a bad batch in the UK which had this problem as when my friend spoke to madison when sorting it out for me they said they have had quite a few come in with that problem.
This was also the case for all 5 of my mate's brakes aswell.
The 5th and latest one just lost all power and oil was all over the lever when I went to ride my bike one morning, so probably another seal blown.
That said - when they actually work, they're awesome, and my lbs has taken very good care of me each time with no questions asked. Hopefully I'll have some more luck this year.

The fork bumpers are made from a bmx bar end.
they have beeen cut of the end of the bar end) and with a couple layers of double fix ducktape put on the frame!

hi there, not sure whether i'll get a reply before i've already sorted it!

i bought a Sunday Elite 09 back in 09 and at the beginning of the year i decided it was time for a re-build... so it's been stripped, powder coated and posted off to pearce cycles for a rebuild with fresh bearings.

rather than service the VIVID 4.1 it came with i just bought a 5.1 instead in a B Tune (from the leverage ratio's i thought this was right... doh)

i weigh about 200 pounds with my gear on and was running a 400lb spring on my 4.1, the new 5.1 came with a 350lb spring and i was wondering whether it would be worth trying this spring on the new build or whether it would be too soft??

i'm no racer, i enjoy going fast but i'm more into hucking and styling it up than flat out racing! i liked the bike how it was with the 400lb but it was possibly a little too stiff? after looking at all the spring calcs i can find it seems that ideally i'd want a 375lb shock...

so i'm stuck.

any help would be appreciated!!

Looking at replacing my old roco shock on my sunday with something 2009/2010. I have the red dw link 2006 currently. I know that modding on the link is required to fit a vivid on. Looking for any additional information on the mods needed. Does much material need to be taken off? Will it affect the strength of the link much? From reading through the thread I see that Vivids are highly recommended for sundays. Would love to be able to get one fitting on my sunday!

I'm right around your weight (maybe slightly over 200 with armor/helmet etc.)and run a 375 (on DHX tho).
I have 350 and 400 steel springs and like you neither felt spot on so I had to go Ti spring to get a 375 rate.. I no longer race but still ride UK race tracks reasonably quickly for fun enjoy and also getting my ropey old man steez on over the jumps but my old bones hate horrible huck landings and rarely bottom out harshly. hope this helps.

As for springrate, I weigh about 200 give or take a burrito and ride a 400. I had a 350 originally but the rear would blow through its travel too fast and i'd wind up with mucho pedal strikes so I upped to a 400. I haven't ridden a 375, but the 400 keeps the frame much higher in the travel, and provides more responsiveness to terrain. I always felt like my shock felt "dead" with the 350, in other words the damping was too firm. The higher spring rate negated that feeling. This is all on a DHX though, so YMMV. I ran max boost valve with about 150psi, only a few clicks of compression and one of rebound...

Thanks! Its all paint, the links are painted with Duplicolor Metalcast which is translucent and gives the look of ano, then the whole bike had several heavy coats of clear.

Ya its all custom Paint, its the 4th or 5th frame I have sprayed. The duplicolor works great and lasts, as long as you prep and clean the surface properly. you have to really take your time with paint, it can't be rushed.

Ive got the chance to get a pushed dhx5 2008 to replace my roco which is preety dead! The push tuning has been completed for a gt dhi (single pivot). How far out would this tune be for the sunday? Would it require retuning? cheers

Haha cheers man, some of the colour combos are a bit unorthodox but it looks sweet when it's all together! Hopefully get a pic of it fully done soon.
Im just waiting for a rotor shim in the post then im all good to go, so I haven't ridden it yet, but the push test feels like it could actually be just right for me, but im putting that down to the 300 spring being too soft for me when i had the dhx3, but now the harder damping balances it out, also the needle bearing kit might be making a difference too!
Hoping to get a ride out on it next week, just to make sure everythings working before I pack it up to go to canada

Probably not a bad choice, I just destroyed my LG1+ bashguard, although admittedly after beating the crap out of it for the last 2 months. Although my chain/chainrings are perfect, as are my ISCG tabs, so I guess it did its job and I just have to replace a $50 bashguard.

Let us know what you think of the RC4 once you get it broken in and dialled, I feel kinda guilty for convincing you out of a matching red bos haha... but I think the fox suits the frame better and was probably the way to go.

I was the same with spring rate, was getting too much sag with the 300 on the bos, but the same spring on the fox feels perfect. The RC4 has a fair bit of air spring effect thanks to the large shaft, so the overall spring rate ends up being a little higher than on a normal shock... which explains the difference.

haha nah don't feel guilty, I got some other bits and bobs which will compensate for no Stoy , I'll try to get some pictures up soon. And I got a good deal on the RC4, paid £250 for it (as opposed to paying around £600 for a stoy), its a 2011 one which started life as an RC2 for some mojo sponsored rider, so he sent it back to mojo to get it converted into an rc4, so it has a fresh factory rebuild on it! So hopefully I wont have any problems with it in canada as its had a fresh service.
Still waiting on the rotor shim to arrive which I ordered over a week ago :/

I put this int eh 2011 rides, but thought you guys might be interested as well. I had a buddy paint the frame, I polished the links. I nearly cut out the webbing like Udi, but left it as is. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

I still like the way the sunday rides(especially with my angleset) over my 2010 Demo 8 II.

Yeah, still running the DHX. I would like to try a different shock but then I go for a ride and realized that the rear shock actually does everything I want it to.
We have a new ski-jump style hit on our trail that was put in over the winter that I started hitting for the last time in the mud on sunday. I keep landing in this big hole about 15' out and don't even notice it. It just feels good.

My only complaint is the rebound. I'm running it fairly slow and it feels nice on the trail but **** for jumping with no lip. If I run it quicker the rear end feels really "wobbly". I had the same issue on my RC4 on the Demo, but the Sunday is much more manageable.

Honestly I started playing more with the knobs on my dhx and I haven't been too disappointed. I normally like a fast rebound with medium compression damping but I've switched to a slower rebound and firmer compression, and I don't mind it. I just can't get my boxxer where I'd like it to be so I can't really focus on the rear.

The DHX will need a rebuild soon one way or the other, so it's either PUSH or replace by the end of this season....unless a half-priced zerode comes out.

I need to reread the shock setup on the first page.

I pumped up the resi to 75 or 80 whatever the minimum pressure was, turned the bottom out all the way up, then turned in the LSC(propedal) all the way up as a starting point, then reset the pressure to 125 in the resi.

I think I've got the setup backwards on how to do it as standing up and mashing the pedals this weekend let the rear end bob like crazy on the pedal in. Once on the trail it felt nice.

Just an FYI to the Avy mod. I preordered in September and my money is still sitting in limbo waiting for the project to launch. Instead I just ordered an RC4 and will be dremeling out the linkage. Ive got another copy of the linkage in case this project goes wrong.
