Looks like some FTW creation. Early Sinister?
Lusted after a Bow Ridge for a while, mainly cause I rode that trail back in the day and it was an eye opening ass kicking.

I miss web 1.0
I hated it when one of the 33 parts of the file wasn’t present in the thread and thus the unrar didn’t work.Porn seemed so much more special when you had to use Usenet Newsgroups. The horrors you had to sift through to find a little amputee tentacle porn really built character.

Ahhh... the good ol' days.Porn seemed so much more special when you had to use Usenet Newsgroups. The horrors you had to sift through to find a little amputee tentacle porn really built character.
This bike brought me much entertainment, and I never even owned one.
I think it's the only bike I missed out on but from a riding perspective the Cannondale M900 I got was as good as what Klein was building especially when I was finish upgrading the parts. Besides that I have been very lucky to get bikes I really wanted and liked and not had anything on the list i regretted I did not get.Back inna day I briefly wanted a Boulder Bicycles or a Slingshot, but ended up with a gorgeous gator fade Klein Adroit, which spoiled me for life on expensive bikes.

But frames are easier to align when not heat treatedI had a Karpiel Disco Volante on order along with an Intense M1 back in 2002. I sure am happy that Intense was able to fill that order first.
And... Mike is currently the president of Stan's.One of the monkeys sold it to be. Don't remember his user name, but I think that I recall that he worked for Stan's at the time.
2001 Aeon Joker, S/N 9760098WV7, purchased from Mike Bush for $700-, arrived 2002-04-10.
changing the stickers on all the rims would be a pain in the buttDid he depose Stan in a violent coup?
More importantly, WHY IS IT NOT "MIKE'S?!"
I was thinking about him/those today browsing this thread. Sanjay did things on that bike...but in the end would I have wanted one?BCD.... Man. He was so far ahead of us all.
The Aeon/Joker/Ellsworth convos informed me that he'd welded those up, which I had never known. Seems weird given the explode-y experiences of many of our members.Huh, Ventana is still around. Seems as though they didn't drink their milk and is suffering from osteoporosis.

Welded to spec doesn't means the spec was good and the welds were bad.The Aeon/Joker/Ellsworth convos informed me that he'd welded those up, which I had never known. Seems weird given the explode-y experiences of many of our members.
Remember the Go Ride El Cuervo tho? Those were neat.
I really wanted a Karpiel Disco Volante after I powder coated one. But it took a torch and a BFH to get the bottom Steelset cup out of that bitch.
That was a stout bike. The head tube was so buff.
Or Triton...I was always sort of sad Cortina disappeared. I liked those bikes, too.
I'm telling you, torch and BFH. It was like a 4 hour process. Those head tube were a half inch thick. That bike was not light, but so well put together. You actually got a steelset out?
I tried once on a dirtjumper I had. I was defeated
BCD.... Man. He was so far ahead of us all.
i had an opportunity at one of those somewhat recently.BCD.... Man. He was so far ahead of us all.
That shock has the highest ratio of bad to size.I always eyed the Kleins because of the fancy paintjob. Didn't they used to file the welds down to a smooth finish on those?
This is an awesome thread and makes me wish I hadn't junked all of the mountain bike magazines from when I was in high school so I could go back through them and laugh at all the insane design choices.
Always wanted a Foes Fly - not the sensible redesign, but the one with the shock "tunnel" and the floating disc brake.

If you got ahold of one of the gussetted discos those things were the shit. The earlier ones ovalized headtubes and would develop cracks but those last gen ones (the heat treated versions) had longer shocks/lower leverage ratios, a progressive leverage ratio that bike designers just recently realized they need, and they really were pretty light for a dh frame.I'm telling you, torch and BFH. It was like a 4 hour process. Those head tube were a half inch thick. That bike was not light, but so well put together.
Never got to ride one, but when it was done, it was stunning.
