But then you have to ride...you know...a pressfit BB.
Seriously, the plastic adapters Shimano include with every BB work great and do not clutter up your toolbox. In contrast to pressfit, you do not have to have a bearing press/puller in the mobile toolbox either and still can fix creaky BBs in the car park. ;)
You mean the plastic adapters shimano does not include with every BB?

I bought 3 BBs in the last year, 2x XTR/Dura Ace, 1x XT, all came with the respective adapter in the package. But they were all in retail packaging.

This was in retail packaging, XT BB. Pretty standard unit I'd think...

I do remember in other cases they'd include tools on some of the high end components.

Just checked, and the pic clearly shows the adapter still included. Weird!

There's no way, they pay 114% of their income in taxes. They don't have money!
i sell most ebikes via jobrad or equivalent leasing...

with that, the user‘s monthly leasing rate gets deducted from his brutto income BEFORE taxes and social security/insurances. saves them netto about 30%+-

this is a HUGE driver in ebike adoption

Paris Roubaix winning lady just got 1/20th in prize money compared to the men: 1535€ against 30 000€...

Thankfully her team has been matching prize money payouts.

While I understand that women cycling is not as big as men cycling, 1/20th is an insulting difference specially considering that it was the first race for the woman and that both races were broadcasted.
I watched the men's race and 0/20th of the women's race so she is making more than the men in relation to the exposure they generate for sponsors.

I am not having a go at you guys, I just try to be sarcastic with not so much success apparently.
Through a miracle of luck all the press fit BB bikes I've owned have been fine. That's 4 Scotts and 1 YT with BB92 & Raceface Cinch, 1 Fuji with PF30, and 1 Santana with two BB386s. However, while working in shops I've dealt with many bikes that had creaky, ill-fitting press fits, especially when I worked at a Specialized dealer.

Switched to shorter 170 cranks to see if I can reduce the pedal strikes. I feel like a clown now, at least my legs do, with the shorter circles, and my pedals still hit the ground on pavement while turning.

Eh? How long are your legs?

Sounds like you might actually be a clown if you're managing to bottom your pedals of road surfaces?

Yeah, it's not a problem if you just always go straight.

I went for 165mm cranks on my trail bike. I had 175 before. It mainly felt the same except for a little less power during punch climbs. And also less hip pain post ride which was a nice relief and not expected.

I have short-ass legs. I went with 165 mm cranks on a prior bike build.

I did not care for that feel at all. Do not like.
