    Hammerschmidt AM vs FR

I purchased the AM, and think it is plenty tough. I didn't ride it for long, but when i did i hit all the drops at Diablo Freeride park, and clipped a few rocks, still works like a dream

Off-season DH lift service or shuttling

So I fractured my heel on Memorial Day this year and am unable to ride DH thru August. So i have been looking into planning an off-season dh getaway. So sometime in Jan-early March I'd like to preferrably do a road trip south west out of dirty Jersey. Is there any lift service spots open this...

    2.75" Double Barrel Ti spring?

My stock Cane Creek spring is a 350 x 2.75 with 1.43 ID and a 6.25" freelenght. The thing is a 350 x 3.0 is the same exact steel spring from CC. I am not sure if a vivid spring will fit a DB, i never owned a rear coil rockshox

    2.75" Double Barrel Ti spring?

Well after an exhaustive search, I finally decided on a 350 x 2.76 manitous spring. Thanks for the suggestion blimbingbubba. It is the only 350 or 400lbs by 2.75 that has a reasonable freelenght (6" or less) all others are at least 6 1/4" which makes the spring install a pain in the a**...

    2.75" Double Barrel Ti spring?

I found it hard to believe that the fox/progressive springs which are just 5/100 of an inch narrower ID would make a difference, i already removed the black plastic guard off the damper anyways. If the spring is actually less than 300g as advertised, than i don't care how long it is. Thanx Bubba

    2.75" Double Barrel Ti spring?

So i've been searching for a ti 2.75 400lbs spring for my Trek Session. Cane Creek sent the DB with a 3" stroke spring even though it says 2.75 printed on it they admit its actually a 3" stroke. So the freelenght is 6.2" and requires the ole' ziptie trick to remove the spring from the damper. I...

    Hammerschmidt AM vs FR

You can get the hammerschmidt in bothe 22-36 and 24-38, The FR weighs 160grams more than the AM according to pinkbike. I'm not worried bout the thinner crankarms but the weaker bb kinda worries me. Nice setup on that V-10. I'm getting this almost as a novel cool gadget i can get for cheap. I...

    Hammerschmidt AM vs FR

Well i've been debating on getting the hammerschmidt for months now and the time has come. Now i can't decide whether i want the FR or save the 120+ grams and use the AM. I am a light rider (150) and wasn't sure i needed the heavier bb spindle and thicker arms for, 'impact resistance.' Beyond...

    Fox Kashima Coating goes production

The tool from fox is like 90 bucks cost. I would have my buddy make it if i choose that route. I'll either do the classic wait and problem will go away, or sell and buy wc.

    Fox Kashima Coating goes production

I would if i had their clamp tools at our shop. Thats why i sent it back to them. I guess no one else who has read this has experienced this problem?

    Fox Kashima Coating goes production

Yea and i told 3 seperate fox techs that was the case, but they say the fork is within spec. So they wouldn't even look into it, and any idiot can tell that fork is screwy.

    Fox Kashima Coating goes production

Exactly, thats why i was not pleased with their service. You would think they would look into it more than they did. What i mean is in bleeding the cartridge bladder, when pressing cartridge it seemed stiff than would jump from full extension in an inch. It also kinda sticks when it is...

    Fox Kashima Coating goes production

My 2010' 40 is currently on its way back from Fox, because my fork has sticktion issues. Everyone who has ever felt the fork says its sticky, and other 40's i felt are plusher. So after 3 long phone calls with different techs, they said nothing was wrong with it. This is according to a "dyno...

Ur saints? u mean codes, well then yes, those... did i say they look pimp. They feel good i had time to actually set them up today, they are more spongy feeling then saints, but that may just be modulation.. i got trail ride to know for sure

    Brake "upgrade"?

I love my new saints and they are powerful as hell as everyone has heard a million times before. Bleeeding them is a major pain in the ass though. I just gave up on doin my rear line after the 5th attempt. Thats tryin both gravity bleed and using their pro kit. So i just slapped some codes on my...

    Sram xo 2011

Back to the wear and tear on DH drivetrain. I work at a shop and road xc riders do go thru a lot of chains and cassettes here. So i checked mine after 1season and i am at the point where i definetly have to change my chain. The stretch is not bad enough to effect my cassette, though i see some...

    Mavic Rims

All you gotta know is the EX 823 are the toughtest the company makes. Having the UST rim has no holes drilled thru the outer rim wall to weaken the structure. No one can argue the ghetto eyelet nipple setup is a bitch, but mine have loctite and are fine. Its not the lightest rim, but as close to...

    Fox DRCV

Yea i work at a shop and set up the sag according to Gary Fisher, but still bottoms out. The shock also makes a loud fluid sound as if there is a lot of rebound on.. like a squish every time. Maybe this shock is defective.

    Fox DRCV

This isn't necesarily a 29er only post, but the 2010 Gary Fisher Rumblefish 2 has that new fox shock DRCV (Dual Rate Control Valve) rear shock. Has anyone else ridden this shock? I'm not sure if i had to little air pressure, but i seem to blow thru the travel way too fast. I realize the design...
