so where can I get one of those?
we never got the diesel version in the us :( . but they might be in canada? and we have the gasoline version, which are highly thought-of in 4x4 circles i hear, at least for the ones sufficiently old ('84-older?) to have a solid axle up front.

i went riding today! actually a night ride, with Jr_Bullit and evilbob. good people, good times, altho my stadium light went dead mysteriously after about 15 minutes. i think it may need a new battery since it has been a couple of years since i bought it. but no pics from the ride.

however, i do have pics from the showing of warren miller's "impact" today tho:

see the rest here, including a few of my classmates (the ones who get their own subject pages):

Got this goofy error message installing a server this afternoon. To me it looks like the Microsoft Windows 2003 server family isn't Microsoft certified. Installing Windows may, now, or at some future point break your machine. Hey, at least they're honest...

hmm, it may be several months before i receive a replacement for my bic-able kryptonite:

We are happy to report that Kryptonite did begin this program in October
and thousands of replacement locks have been sent out to customers in the
last few weeks. *Kryptonite continues to manufacture and ship new products
to consumers on a weekly basis. *The whole process of the Lock Exchange
Program is a complex one with manufacturing and transportation all coming
into play. *We are building and air shipping the new locks to get them out
to our customers as fast as possible.

For those of you who are still waiting to get your UPS postage paid label,
here is an update:

U-locks (bicycle and powersports), Padlocks, Cables and Evolution Disc
Locks (New York Chain and New York Noose) - replacement locks are being
manufactured at this time and will be shipped to consumers as they become
available.
Automobile locks - these locks are being manufactured now and will be
shipped in December.
DFS and KryptoDisco - these locks are being re-engineered now and will be
available to consumers in January.

As further information becomes available we will post it to our website at
http://www.kryptonite.com and be sending email updates, as needed.

We appreciate your loyalty and patience during this challenging time.
Please know that we are working around the clock to get a new lock to
everyone who has signed up for the Lock Exchange Program.

And lastly, when packing your lock to return to us, please be kind to our
planet and use as little packing material as possible.

Regards,
Team Kryptonite

Hey, I know Whitney! Tell her I said hi.

In other news, I bought a Niterider digital evolution light. It's pretty bright, and about $200 cheaper than the HID (although doesn't get nearly as much burn time).

Also went skiing this wknd. Sunday river had 2 top-to-bottom trails open and nothing was groomed, making for a lot more of a workout than I bargained for in the first two days out.

how was your orgo midterm, thad?

also i just posted a ~135 MB zip file (of mp3s, only compressed them very slightly, more to get them in a single file) of the subset of recordings that i'm on that doesn't totally make me ashamed to listen to. i still cringe and go "ohhh :(" a lot. anyway, download the beast here and listen away.

also x 2: here is a followup clip from the daily show, where jon stewart talks about appearing on crossfire (of which footage you've already all seen long ago, no?): http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2653047 . funny stuff :thumb:

was going to see the seattle symphony today, but the cheap tickets were sold out. so instead we saw the incredibles. :thumb: excellent flick. anyway, the 20D is working just fine for me, and detail is not a problem even with the small sensor sites, provided adequate shutter speed, low iso, etc. etc.

i got the DoJ response today [to my FOIA request about me being investigated as a possible abducted child], and they say "A search of the automated indices to the central records system files at FBI Headquarters located no records responsive to your FOIPA request." that's good i guess, even tho i am slightly disappointed. i am pretty sure that my memories of the cooperstown incident are sound since my parents have talked about it too... go figure.
ok, i asked my mother about this, and she confirms my hazy memories of the night, more or less. so i didn't imagine it, yay :D
my mother said:
around 1986 toshi handa clark (6 years old) in california was
kidnapped by one of his parents after the parents divorced. *his
blurry "missing person" mugshot picture appeared on the side of
kornflake boxes. *the picture was so small and blurry it could have
been any chubby dark haired six years old.

the local cooperstown [ny] swimming teacher and her busybody friends
reported to the fbi that there is a "toshi clark" who just moved into
the town. *[...]*it is especially
amazing, because the swimming teacher (the weirs) and the her busybody
friends were at our house with their children and saw your picture
albums which showed the whole family together from before you were
born until that very day.

anyway four (?) or so fbi agents (from the closest utica? branch) came
knocking on the door one late night just to check if you were the
missing kid. *they knew that dad was at the hospital that night on
call and they even had a copy of your birth certificate. *a woman
agent was there, too, ready to 'mother' the kid on the way out of the
"kidnappers' den". *towards the beginning of the visit, one agent was
posted by the back window of the duplex apartment, i guess, just to
make sure that we won't take flight.

well, they naturally wanted to see you. so i gently picked you up from
your sleep and softly suggested that you let them take your
fingerprints. *(. . . the best quickest way to prove your identity and
clear this ridiculous claim against us.)

you were half asleep, but lo and behold, you curled up your hands and
would not let them touch you. *we offered chocolate pudding and other
goodies for a reward to submit, but with no avail. *you could not be
persuaded. *i must credit the senior fbi agent of that group for not
forcing anything upon you against your will at that moment. *he
decided that the accompanying fingerprint specialist can visually
check your thumb and compare it with that of t. handa clark and he
also noted that you lacked the injury mark on the forehead which was
supposed to be prominent on t. handa clark. *they were satisfied that
you are, after all, [my full name] and not the
kidnapped fellow in question and left peacefully.

what is mind-boggling is that they knew your full name from the birth
certificate before they visited us and also knew dad's identity and
even where he was that very night and still questioned our innocence.
it was like my words against the accusing words of those busybodies. .
. or rather, their words were given as much weight as my own words
about my own children and family. *i shiver to think that if my
english was not clear enough the agents could have easily ignored my
rightful authentic claim of facts about you and our family and they
could have taken you away on the basis of the spurious irresponsible
thrill-seeking busybodies. . . (of course, the finger prints would
have disproved the accusation quickly, but only after unpleasant
forceful collection of the prints.)

anyway, perhaps that experience strengthens my concerns for the
erosion of civil rights in patriots act and guantanamo principle.

i guess we live and learn and thank goodness our brush with such
absurdity is only limited to that small incident. . . (that is) . .
.so far!

oh yeah? well: http://www.safetyschool.org

that's been around since my freshman year. apparently the guy still pays for the domain registration even though he graduated in '99 or something.

still props to the yalies, though I couldn't for the life of me tell what that said at the game. I never saw it that clear. maybe a little photoshop, eh?

[penis enlargement] pills [ed: the topic of the linked thread] have no way of working. assuming you can get and maintain an erection the size of the penis is limited by its deep fascia. pills aren't going to make your deep fascia any looser, and that's what you'd need to let the penis expand more.

furthermore, considering that many of the fascial layers of the penis, perineum, and scrotum (but not the deep fascia referred to above) are continuous with the fascial layers of the abdomen, a pill that really did work to make your wang bigger would also likely make your man-breasts and gut sag :D
