Obviously his article was written more from the perspective of NW riders that are trying to squeeze as many trips in a summer as possible. 10 hours of drive time= OSU or U of O student. I know for myself, having moved back to Oregon from SF, that I'm working on a similar plan, and trying to...
Just thought I would pass this along- for anyone interested in working for a bikeshop!
If you live in or near San Rafael, the Mike's Bikes warehouse needs two full time bike builders.
There are also openings in the San Francisco, Palo Alto, Berkeley, and Sacramento Store.
If you apply...
hey all, I'm posting this in my official capacity as Web Marketing Guy for Mike's Bikes. Let me know if this is considered S P A M . I don't see how it can though, we're just getting our top Vendors and their Demo trucks to come out and let people ride the latest and greatest bikes on sweet...
I hate bikes has been going through a redesign. The plan is to upgrade the site to make it more along the lines of NSMB or Pinkbike, or RideMonkey, a full-blown webzine, but with a focus on Nor-Cal and the west coast scene..
Still looking for help with the development though. Need help...

I just got another pair of Saints for my DJ hardtail. I love these cranks. BikeSmart.com has the double w/ bashguard for $174. Pretty good price if you ask me.

Specialized held their dealer launch last week and the 07 stuff was released. We got our books then. The 07 line up looks pretty good, but a lot of the paint jobs of the dh- oriented bikes are a bit... radical.
I thought this model of the Enduro SL had looked pretty tight.
I posted a...
I was thinking about getting an SX trail for the slightly shorter top tube, but after doing some measurements of the dh bike and P.3 I think I can make the enduro work for what I want it to do.(more friendly to slopestyle/ smooth dh trails)
I hate the 5th element that came on the 05 enduros...
dirt jumper 1 with the short travel kit. The BB height was over 13". Not so great for berms and slalom racing. Great street bike(although I think it would have been better with 24" wheels), just wrong for racing.
my DOC had a really high BB height that made the bike horrible in corners. Loved the geometry other than that. If they made the a 26" specific version of the DOC with a 12" BB height, it would be money..
I've switched to a Specialized P3 with almost the same geometry (except fr the 12" bb)...
the bb cups are the same. it's the length of the spindle that changes. I've heard that you can run the standard crank with a single ring with a modification though. You'd have to cut/ grind the small ring mounts for clearance, and flip the shock pivot bolt around.
I've been pestering our Specialized rep, and the S-works Enduros have carbon ft triangles and are going light weight.. I heard something about 7" of travel too.. not sure what I think of 7" of carbon.. the resale value can't be good.
It looks like there is plenty of seat post. I get full leg...
UPDATE: I received a new set of cranks from SRAM about a month ago and was very meticulous about how I installed them. I was happy to say that for a number of rides I had a great set up. Every bolt stayed tight, no noises or creaking whatsoever. This lasted until a session at the dirt jumps...
haha. yeah, I'm not fond of it's looks either. The guys that have been building them up have been getting frames and moving their already light parts off their demos, so technically I could run the same game.
I don't know why you'd want to leave the FSR rear end though. I love the way these...
