Some of you may remember my desire to make a winter bike with a ski in the front and a big ass wheel on the back (Lately I've been thinking a Pugsley frame might be the way to go). Looks like someone's gone and beat me to it , though I hadn't thought to tread it:

if by 'really close by' you are excluding these 'depressing suburbs', i'd say your riding options are limited to the Fells and maybe belmont.

good riding, but there's plenty of better stuff in the dolorburbs.
