Manitou Gold Label 80 measuring longer?

My Gold Label 80 measures a little closser to +100mm. Not sure if they put the wrong spring in there at the factory, or because it just needs to brake in. I know Im a little nit picky, but I bought it because I wanted an 80mm fork. Anyone else have the same issue? Also, on a side note...

Juicy 7 hose blown from lever body

Hey all, I recently cut my juciy brake lines and bled them accordingly. When I put everything back together it works fine. But, I squeezed the front brake hard, the hose shoots out of the lever body. I had a 2004 set up. Avid has redesigned the hose barb with hose compression olive for...

If you are thinking of getting a Ridemonkey shirt

It took me two months to get mine. I ordered in September and received in November. I seriously thought it was never going to come in. They mail it in a regular paper envelope. Nothing special. But, the shirt is of high quality and doesnt shrink.

    Switching Crossmax to 20mm axle

Ahhh ... they come with spacers. Never knew that, the wheels came stock on my old Giant VT1. Would have been nice to have this information, damn LBS/Giant! The spacers were never included w/ my bike. Not sure if you know this already. You have to purchase the spoke wrench separately. I...

    Switching Crossmax to 20mm axle

Just pop them off. Nothing will break. You can actually pop them off with your finger/fingernails at the square grooves on the adapters. Flat head screwdriver works best thought. I use to own a pair of these rims, but sold them due to the fact that the hubs are spaced 100mm, and they left a...

    Facing/ Chasing tools

Where can I get a good quality facing/chasing tool for less than $200. All the facing/chasing tools that I have seen cost in excess of $350 (i.e. Park)? Also, for intermediate mechanic like my self would it be recommended to face my own ht and bb. Or should I leave it to the shop professionals.

    $1985 DJ frame from IF?

Just received my Decline 06 buyers guide issue. In it I see Ind. Fab. frame "beatstick" for $1985. Who in their right mind would shell out that kind of money for a DJ frame, a frame that will probably get a whole lot of pounding. More like a show room piece to me. Given the frame is custom...

EVIL DOC ... HT facing? BB chasing?

I bought my frame from beyondbikes.com in San Diego and not from my LBS. Yeah, I think the price my LBS quoted me for is a little steep. And is it really necessary to get the head tube reamed? Wouldnt facing be enough?

EVIL DOC ... HT facing? BB chasing?

Evil Doc owners, Did you have your headtube faced/reamed, and bottom bracket chased before you built it up? I dont know how much frame prep work goes into frames before they leave the manufacturer. Especially frames that are built over seas. My LBS wants $35 to face the headtube, and $40...
